BSN program @ UFV September 2014 Intake

I have just completed my application for the BSN program at UFV for the September 2014 Intake. I thought I would start this thread for anyone wanting to share their thoughts, ask some questions etc. The deadline is fast approaching! As far as I know interviews take place in March and decisions usually are done in May. I have a sister who is in fourth semester at UFV and is loving it! She found this site very helpful while going through the application process as it tends to be a long one!

So it was great having the info session today! The questions were simple and not In essay format. I just answered them in paragraph form. Actually feel like a huge burden has been lifted off my chest. Got to meet Bkim and chat a little :-) it was encouraging to hear that they are interviewing 15 and 8 will get admission. So it's pretty competitive because she said there were around 50 applicants. So now we just have to wait for the interview! She said that we will know in late April for us LPNs whether we get in. :-)

we were told at the second info session that they were interviewing around 88.

Wow! Less than what I expected! How many people roughly were at your info session Meghan111? My interview is booked for the 11th!:)

im not exactly sure to be honest with you because I sat in the front and didn't really see the people behind me!

Nice! Maybe I'll see you there! Except mine starts at 8:15(45 mins for essay then the interview starts at 9)! Goodluck meghan111

It sounds like there is so much conflicting information out there ! Someone previously had mentioned that they were told the school would be interviewing every single applicant this year, which I thought seemed a little crazy ! I would be surprised if they only had 88 applicants this semester considering the amount of applicants mentioned in previous threads for other intake years. If that is correct though, and only 88 people are being interview and 50 applicants will be accepted that actually seems like not to bad odds to me.

brody6 - in our info session they said 46 seats and about 90 people being interviewed. She also said there were 360 applicants in total but only the applicants that were invited to an information session (90) would be getting interviewed.

I didn't go to an info session and I got an interview. There maybe even more than 90 then!

I also did not go to an info session and go an invitation to an interview. However I had a mix up with my application which my have lead to a delay on my review on my application. I have my interview on the 11th too! See you then!! :)

Ya I also had a mix up! Oh well regardless we all have interviews! I'm so excited :) my sister says the interview is a breeze!

They are definitely not interviewing every applicant! Lol

But what gingersnips says is accurate. At least from what I heard at the info session. I thought he said that there were around 150 applicants though. I was confused when I heard that though, I thought there would be a lot more..
