BSN program @ UFV September 2014 Intake

I have just completed my application for the BSN program at UFV for the September 2014 Intake. I thought I would start this thread for anyone wanting to share their thoughts, ask some questions etc. The deadline is fast approaching! As far as I know interviews take place in March and decisions usually are done in May. I have a sister who is in fourth semester at UFV and is loving it! She found this site very helpful while going through the application process as it tends to be a long one!

Hi all !

I'm so excited I found this thread ! I have applied for September 2014, this is my first time applying at ufv. I have an interview booked for April 3. Since I'm coming over Victoria they let me skip out on the info session which was so nice ! Considering how expensive the ferries are :) I'm wondering if anyone knows from the info sessions how many applicants they have for this intake ? And also any feed back that anyone has on the essay questions and interview questions would be greatly appreciated. Wishing everyone good luck !! Don't forget to breath all :)

I scheduled my interview on Thursday, April 3rd afternoon. Does anyone else have their interviews booked on that day? Oh my goodness, only 5 days until the information session!

Hello Brody6,

I was nervous to skip out on the information session, so I traded my work shifts to fly in from Saskatchewan to attend the session. Then I read it in the other email that I could have asked for additional 45 minutes to write my essays on the day of the interview! Oh well, haha. I also booked my schedule on the 3rd. What time is your interview? Someone has mentioned earlier that school is interviewing the double the amount of people who are getting accepted. So 96 people for the regular BSN program and a dozen for LPN access?

I know, I am just as nervous! I am scheduled for my interview on april the 2nd. Just thinking about it gives me butterflies :-/

I am nervous for the interview. What I don't understand is that we will be talking about ourselves at the interview, and it's worth 13 points!!!! Makes me so nervous to think which types of applicants get the 13 and which ones don't .. Hmm

I'm so excited for the info session tomorrow! Can someone who has already been to the first info session confirm that room 2201 is in the main building where Tim Hortons and Starbucks are?

@ bkim88 that's crazy that your flying all the way out from Saskatchewan ! Are you attending the info session and then just staying in town until your interview ? Mines booked for 1 pm on April 3rd, I have to be there early though to write the essay. I was looking through previous thread's from intake groups a few years ago and someone had posted the three questions they were asked, but I wonder if they will be the same, I would assume they switch the questions up every year.

Would be curious to hear from anyone how the info session is tomorrow :)

Good morning everyone,

@Brody, unfortunately I could not trade away my three night shifts this weekend, so I will fly back to SK on Friday and fly back to BC following Monday. I know it sounds pretty crazy but I'll do anything to make my application selection process to go smoothly and it is an investment to my career and my life so, every single penny will be worth it! I haven't read the questions that you mentioned from the past but I'm sure UFV won't be using the same questions everybyear. From what I heard, questions involve critical thinking skills and no answer is right or wrong but I'm still nervous! Oh, I had to reschedule my interview so I won't be seeing you next week but good luck :)

@SiLPN, I guess I may see you tomorrow night! I'm still so excited to be attending the info session but nervous at the same time :p

Anyone else write 3 mini-essays? Or just a paragraph answers?

My answers were all paragraph form! Basically answered the questions and had a few following sentences to support my answers. I wonder if we will know what we scored on the essays and how we find out? Anyone know?
