BSN bump in pay?

Trying to find ways to bump up our pay...does anyone get an annual credit for having their BSN or additional educational credits?

My district required BSN and nurses are on the teachers contract and pay scale. It's my understanding, before the district made that move, nurses were on a para scale/contract, so I'm assuming there was a bump in pay.

In the Minneapolis/St Paul metro area, and least in the hospitals, BSNs make about a dollar or so, maybe two, more an hour than ADNs. BSN is becoming a requirement.

There is a pay increase with a Bsn but that's just part of contract,there is no bonus every year for having Bsn. Yearly we get pay for having specialty certification in a specific area,also based on our union contract.

None of the hospitals around here pay extra for a BSN. They do pay a token amount extra for a certification. None of the hospitals here have a nurse's union (deep south). Certification pay is usually limited to 2 certs. You do not have to have a BSN in order to get a job; any RN is considered the same scope of practice. Pay is mostly based on years of experience.

Exactly. ASN or BSN same pay ents the BSN means you can move into management easier. We got 50 cents for PALS, 50 cents for ACLS. If you got your TNCC or CEN nothing and if you went through WMD training, Burn Care training you got nothing but the label. I worked with a lot of new grads both ASN and BSN and I really hate to say this but every BSN that tried to come into the ER when I was working never made it. They were either moved to another area or left the hospital. Deep South RN here too. We were all ASN's in the ER, some took the bridge classes and left to move into the management areas or to do case management. But both BSN and ASN started with the same pay.
