BSHP Spring 2021 (Baptist School of Health Professions) ADN

Has anyone here applied to Baptist School of Health Professional in SA, TX for Spring 2021 . I just took my TEAS test today. I haven’t seen a thread for this coming semester so I wanted to start one.

Off topic... I’m looking for a good laptop to use for this Spring semester coming up. I see online for Baptist they have some “requirements” such as 17” screen, specific operating systems.. if you don’t mind me asking what kind do you use or see people using? TIA!

I use a MacBook and so does the majority of my friends! It’s just personal preference honestly. I also have an iPad pro so things sync easily.

Anything but a chromebook. The operating system must be windows or mac. Chrome doesn't work with some of the applications they use. Screen size doesn't really matter and the webcam can be internal or external. 6gb of RAM is adequate.

Since we asking materials and stuff on here. Can anyone recommend good scrubs for uniforms? I know people are gonna say Figs is good and honestly as tempted as I may want to get them, I just feel like its not worth it if Im sewing a patch on to it.

Cheap ones. Don't worry about trying to look cute, plenty of code browns and bed baths during fundamentals. ??

I wouldn’t waste money on figs. Too expensive and you won’t be able to use them once you graduate. I only wear joggers. I wear med couture and healing hands purple label. I struggle with tops because I’m thin but blessed in the chest area ? may or may not be an issue for you. so I either get an  XS and have it fit me well in all areas but be tight in the chest, or I get a S And end up swimming in it- scrubs fit weird IMO and every brand is so different. my best advice is to go in and try on all different brands and see what you like the most / what fits you.

Thank you, I ordered a sample scrub from uniform advantage cuz its cheap and had good reviews. I’m really thin and know that scrubs usually run big, I was a Nurse aide last year and wore a small on scrubs and they were large on me.

Good question about the scrubs. I have been looking into the UA ones also. Let me know how those work for you. I saw watched some reviews on them on Youtube and they seems like some good scrubs to start off with.

Maybe like 4 pair for now.. I’m really not too sure how much is enough LOL

Do you have any suggestions on materials and essentials you found useful throughout your cohort so far?

I did. I’ve knocked out the first module and working on the second. I have my background scheduled for this Friday. I’m having so much trouble with my immunizations though. I’ve been trying to go through the city’s health dept but I can’t get through. It’s really stressing me out.
