Broward College South Campus

Hi!!! Anyone attending BC south campus nursing program in the fall?? Im hoping to attend that campus, and looking forward to meeting my fellow classmates = )

Any former south students have recs for professors?

Feel free to post anything!:monkeydance:

The required paperwork listed on the letter didnt state that it has to be in that order, they were just listing what you need to provide. On the letter, it specifies that the order they want the paperwork in is on the checklist. The checklist is to be attatched to the front of everything so when they go through our paperwork and they go down the checklist everything will be in exact same order. Hope this helps :)

I have not turned my stuff in yet, but i plan on doing it on Monday... and while Im there may also pick up the orientation packet and my uniform!

Thank you for clarifying for me :) I should have read better. I skimmed the letter instead of actually reading it. I did pick up the orientation packet and uniform the other day. They are busy stocking the bookstore and it was kind of a mess but I managed.

No problem! how much did the uniform cost?

The top is $20 the pants are $15.

Do you all plan to wear the uniform the first lab day?

Yeah, u mean on the 24th when we have the orientation? We have to wear it on that day, and to every lab/clinical day i believe. Im just not sure if we have to wear the uniform on the 23rd when we have our first lecture.. are you going to where yours?

I'm not sure if things have changed but we weren't required to wear our uniforms until we went into the hospital. That was at the end of Process 1. Are they making you guys wear them? The thing was that you could not go into the hospital until you pass your return demo which consists of blood pressure, temp, head to toe assessment, pulse ox etc. If you didn't pass you don't move on so if you wasted money on a uniform you ended up not needing it until you re-enter the program if you choose to. Same concept with that big blue nursing back in the book store. Won't need it until you pass Process 1. I'd just clarify, no need to waste money.

If anyone needs help with head to toe assessment please free to contact me! I'd be glad to show you in the lab how to do it fast, right and efficiently!

I know that we don't need to wear them to lecture, in the letter it said to dress professionally on lecture days. It does say that we are supposed to be in uniform every lab day. For the orientation is when I was wondering about. I would hate to be the only one who shows up in uniform but I do want to wear it if we are supposed to. Should I call and ask? We are also supposed to bring a stethoscope and watch that day.

Yea you should just call and ask, i was wondering the same thing -- dont wanna be the only one wearing the uniform that day. i wish they would be more specific with what they want... let us know what you find out if you call

I tried to call a couple of times and only got voice mail. I did talk to a girl in my micro class who is in the program at south. She said that they didn't wear uniforms to orientation and that they only wore them when tod to during process I. She said that they started wearing them on a regular basis during process II. So I guess I will not wear a uniform until I'm told to.

Does anyone knows places where to notarize your papers?
