Hi!!! Anyone attending BC south campus nursing program in the fall?? Im hoping to attend that campus, and looking forward to meeting my fellow classmates = )

Any former south students have recs for professors?

Feel free to post anything!:monkeydance:

Hi To All, I am new to the site and too will be attending South Campus in fall; is there anyone out there who took KG for Nur 1020 and could share past papers with me? I read Rate My Professor and was not impressed by the comments, therefore I just need to be prepared for her class in order to be successful. So please I would really appreciate the assistance.

OK i found out the answer for the physicals! YOU DO HAVE TO HAVE A TITER for Rubiola (Mumps), Rubella, and Varicella EVEN THOUGH YOU HAVE HAD PREVIOUS IMMUNIZATION SHOTS and have the proof. They are making us do the titers even though we have previously had the shots to prove that we are still immune. One lady told me that this rule did vary by campus though, but I spoke to the nursing dept at South campus and this is the policy for SOUTH CAMPUS. So make sure you do the titers for the above mentioned even if you have a previous record of shots.

Regarding the HEP B. You can get shot records from your highschool. I just called the office and the lady printed one and I picked it up. This showed my HEP B shots (there is a series of 3). There is also a line on the physical where you can sign to decline the HEP B shots if you do not want to take them.

I did the physical, all the titers and tetorifice shot and ppd test for $217.

Also, this stuff is due by August 9th, if you have a question about this stuff CALL THEM dont wait or they can drop you out of the program. I believe they said to wait to hear about the books and uniforms and things like that.

It says to "look professional" when you are not in uniform. What exactly does that mean that we should wear?!

Hi Jena1211, where did you get the physical and all titers and tetaus shot done for 217.00 everywhere else is asking for a boat load of $$$$

Thx

Thanks for clearing that up Jena!... i guess my records are useless then :bluecry1:. I am also interested in where you went to get all this stuff done, thats a good price. You can pm me if you want!

And when they say dress professional, i dont think it means to actually come to school dressed up. i guess this just means be presentable when on campus. You know some of us college students like to come to class as cute and comfortable as possible wearing short shorts or skimpy dresses lol (this goes for girls), so im assuming they want us to not dress this way. Some pants and a nice top should do

Hi ladieej. I'll be attending the south campus this fall. Time feels like its going so fast. I still have to do my drug test and get those titers done. Just saw the book list today and I was just like Whoa! I'm gonna start buying my books now. Do you or anyone else have everything complete?

Hi hollyjoi, welcome to the thread! i agree time does feel like its going really fast, but im enjoying every second of it while it lasts!! Come August time will feel like its going too slow lol. I think im going to buy my books and uniform last, i want to get all my paper work turned in first and i still have my physical to get done. (still in search of the cheapest place to get those titers completed). I already completed my drug screening and fingerprinting as well as the background check online. i did the drug screening at the quest diagnostics in plantation since it was close to the fingerprinting place on the same day. make sure if you go to that location you go early because i arrived at about 11:40 and i waited for an hour before they took me. If you have an appointment, i would assume its faster... but they said they were booked for appointments for the rest of the month! Good luck with everything and let me know how it goes :)

Good Afternoon All..

am so worried I have kg for most of my classes n i heard n read horrible things.. i hope she doesnt make me end up hating nursing. Has anyone heard any horror stories about her?

Jena1211, Where did you get your physical done? That is a really good price for all of the stuff you had done. I was also wondering the same thing on what to wear.

I got my physical and titers done at Quick Family Urgent Care 4301 South Flamingo Road, Davie 33330. Phone number is 954-640-1200. I think these are the prices I paid for these things:

MMR (Rubiola and Rubella) Titer: $75

Varicella Titer: $50

PPD test: $25

Tetorifice shot: $35

and Physical charge: $50

I just finished my physical at Doctors 365 in Plantation. I got the physical, tetorifice shot (it had been over 10 years since my last), TB test, Hep B vaccine, MMR & Varicella titers for $274. I thought it was a really good price for all that I had to get. I still have to go back for the other 2 Hep B vaccinations at $90 each.

Would anyone like to exchange numbers with me? Whoever is going to South Campus?

Where did anyone go to get their drug testing? I went to Miramar and another palce on Flamingo road and both those places does not do drug testing. What makes it diffulcult is that the drug testing form does not say where to go

I did the drug test in Plantation.
