Just wondering if anybody applied for Jan full time RN? If so what points did you receive? I got 14 total points, hopefully it's enough to get me in
got another quick question ...i've called admissions but the lady didnt know for sure. are anatomy and physiology classes valid after 10 years, i know of some colleges that make you take it again if it has been that long...does anybody know???
i took a&p in 1996 and i didn't encounter any trouble getting into bc's nursing program. many schools, however, will not accept science courses that are older than 5 or 7 years.
are you already a student at bc? if so, just look on your degree audit and unofficial transcript and see if the courses were accepted. if they are, you're good. the nursing department is not that thorough. they aren't going to go back to your original transcripts. they just look at the grade on the degree audit.
also, where did you complete the course. sometimes, that plays a role as well. my course was completed dual enrolled through fau and my high school. i was told that they would definately accept it b/c it was from fau.
Hope this helps future BCC'ers for Dade county residents:
If you're currently attending MDC and need to take the HCP0130 class , you can take it at MDC as well. The class that you need is ''HSC 0003: Introduction to Healthcare'' Keep in mind that this class is NOT counted towards the GPA calculation but you still need a passing grade.
Is a typical class with 4 , 75 question tests; talks about the different roles of the medical field, and safety protocols, procedures that you can do in the healthcare setting, along with basic anatomy/physiology. In my class we had to write a paper related to a career in the healthcare field and do a presentation as well.
Hope this helps.
Also hope this helps too:
Advisor told me that they DON'T look at your overall acummulative GPA; your GPA is calculated ONLY from the pre-requisite classes. In addition, they don't care if you repeated, or had to retake sciences again as long as you ended up with a good grade.
Good luck all!! :)
