Broward College RN Program Winter Jan 2010

Published

Just wondering if anybody applied for Jan full time RN? If so what points did you receive? I got 14 total points, hopefully it's enough to get me in

Wow they are doing the applications for January aready, but 14 points is good....did you have HOSA ?

Yeah they started accepting them July 3 and I had all my pre reqs done so I put mine in a few weeks ago. No I didn't have HOSA I just have a good GPA thank God.

Thant is wonderful...from reading the past post it seems people with as little as 9 points got in so you should be fine...if you dont get in with that type of GPA then im gonna start worrying :uhoh21:....I still need to to take APII just the lecture before I apply so I wouldnt get in until may 2010...but keep us posted on whats going on.

Yeah the point scale changes each semester depending on who applies. I worked really hard to keep my grades up so hopefully it pays off. Good luck with APII, it's hard but as long as you have a good teacher it's not so bad. Who are you taking it with?

Im taking it wirh * ******...he's good I had him for ap1....if I get an A then my GPA is 3.4 so I hope I get an A, My GPA is not that good, but we will see what happen...is BC the only school you apply to with that GPA you can probally get into other programs NOVA has a very good program.

That's who I had for both AP1 and AP2, I loved him. That's still a really good GPA you should be fine. Yeah it's the only one I applied to, I wanted to go to PBCC but they didn't have anymore openings for the entrance exam and it's only given every 6 months so I wouldn't make the cut off. I checked into NOVA too but it's just too much money :( If it wasn't for that I would have gone there and FAU only starts once a year and they want you to have 60 credits before you even can apply and I don't have that many yet and I'm not waiting another year I just want to get it over with.

I hear you...but good luck with everything keep me posted on anything new :)

Specializes in ED.

14 pts should be plenty! I got in for Aug with 12, and I think the cutoff was around 8 or 9. I know some who had 8 pts and were put on the alternate list and got in, so don't worry.

I'm surprised they posted your points so fast. They didn't do our points until almost 3 weeks after the application closing date and we had to wait until exactly 30 days from the close of the applications for our acceptances/denials. Looks like by the rate they are going so far this time, you might not have to wait nearly that long.

Good luck. What campus will you be attending in Jan?

Im applying i just need to do the health core class ..it starts sept 3...

oh wow that's good to hear! thanks!

yeah i was surprised too but i figured it's cuz i put mine in the week they started taking apps so i'm guessing it's not as busy like right before the cut off date. i really hope i don't have to wait that long to find out if i got accepted/denied that would drive me nuts!

i think i'm going to try for south, i heard north is the best but i really don't want to have to drive that far and i figured i'm going to get bad teachers no matter which campus i got to. which one are you starting at? good luck and let me know how it is :)

are you going to be done in time with the core class?? isn't the cut off sept 15th?
