Broward college nursing program 2020

Hello!

I'm a prospective nursing student for January 2020 at Broward college! I know I am super early but I am just overwhelmed with excitement! I took my HESI test yesterday, and to be honest I wasn't sure I would pass. I gave myself enough time to re-take it again in 30 days and then submit my application. Well.... I studied for 13 days straight and I passed!!! If you'd like some tips, I'd be happy to share. Just let me know. I submitted my application today, so fingers crossed. I know it will be a while but I am happy I finally made it this far. Hope to hear from any other applicants! ?

The Health admissions advisor said to wait a week after the deadline and then to start checking your email everyday.
I just want to know haha.

To be fair, we had to extend the app period due to the closure for hurricane Dorian. An executive decision was made by the Nursing Leadership team to extend it until September 27. We do not anticipate that affecting our decision timeline.

Thank you! Do you mind me asking how it's determined which campus we get to attend the program at? I tried reading older threads, but couldn't find the information.

South campus but I’m open to Central too. South is just closer.

If you are accepted, you attend pre-admissions and we will go over everything. At the time of registration, you pick your campus. Seats are limited on each campus. This is the only time you will compete for a seat on a campus. Once you register for that campus, you will attend the same campus for the duration of the program.

Oh wow that's really convenient, hopefully you get Central! I live in Boca so I'm really hoping to get North Campus. I'm actually at Central Campus this semester and it's just a little too far for me to travel when North is closer.

It is very convenient so fingers crossed! I totally get you! Last semester I took microbiology at Palm Beach State in Lake Worth and wow that drive was not pleasant lol! Hopefully you get into North Campus! Well.... The countdown begins soon. ?

Hey everyone, I also submitted my application for the January 2020 program and I have taken all of my prerequisites at central campus. So, I would like to get to go to central. I am currently in my last semester and I am taking Micro Lecture and Lab. I am so nervous for October.. ?

Hi Bethany,

How are you taking Micro now if it is a prerequisite for the program? You are taking now, and have already submitted your application for January?

I was told that I could only apply with a completed course and a grade. I have one more class I found out I have to take.

I was accepted a few years ago with a different math class that they no longer accept. I thought I was good to go, as I was already accepted into the program once before, but found out that they now require college algebra. When I asked if I could sign up for the 8-week course this semester (which I have done, and am waiting for it to start), they told me I couldn't apply until the course was finished.

Did you find this to be true? Am I misunderstanding you?

Hi Bethany! I'm taking micro at central this semester too! I'm taking it with Professor Khan. What about you?

Hi, so as far as Micro goes you don't have to take it before applying. It just needs to be completed before you can get your degree. Here is a direct quote from the admissions criteria "MCB2010 and MCB2010L (Microbiology), Humanities elective and a Social/Behav Science elective are required for graduation from the Nursing program."
