Hello to all the future Applicants for the January 17' nursing program. I know it's really early and August admission process hasn't been completed yet but I couldn't help my self. I'm so anxious to get in the program it took me a long time to get to this point. I have completed all the pre reqs that have an affect on your gpa and I have a 3.0. I recently just passed the Hesi for the second try with a 76% in anatomy, 92% in math and 80% in the other 3 sections. I'm in MGF1106 right now grades will post early Aug. so I'm going to turn in the Application right after that. I hope this forum can be used for all us to get through this waiting process together.
Good morning everyone,For those of you who are not sure who I am, my name is Nichole. I am one of three health science admissions reps we have at BC.
I am the only one who will post on the allnurses boards. You can speak freely, vent, etc. I am not here to monitor that. I am just here to make sure that all the facts regarding admissions and our processes are correct.
Just a few reminders are the review process begins:
** The deadline date, as of now, has not changed. We do not anticipate a change in date. Last day to submit applications for consideration into the January term is today (9/15/16). Applications received after today will be considered for the May term.
** DO NOT expect the decisions to be out by the same date as the January term last year. Every year is different, as well as every application pool is different.
** Please refrain from emailing us to find out why you don't have points but your friend's application has been updated. We cannot provide information about another student to you. Applications are not entered, many times, in the order they are received for various reasons.
** All applications will be entered before decisions are made for the January term.
** If you were an alternate for August, your application goes back into the pool for the January term. You are not guaranteed admission for the upcoming term.
** Please take all advice regarding the admissions process you see here with a grain of salt; unless it comes directly from me.
** The exact date decisions will be out depends on how many applications we have received. We anticipate the decisions going out late September/early October. However, if we find we have more applications than we anticipate, the decisions could go out a little later. There is no way for us to know, at this point, when exactly they will be sent.
** Monitor your BC email address routinely.
Good luck to all!

Hello Nichole,
i sent you an e-mail last week while you were out of the office. Basically, I just wanted to know if I should take any action about this email I received from BC. It's asking me to submit my medical history, the application fee and to meet with an advisor.
The only thing I haven't turned in is my medical history. I just don't want this to hold me back from possibly starting in January.
Thank you for taking the time and writing on this! :)

I am working through those emails! I received ALOT! No, you do not have to do any of the background checks, or physicals, before acceptance. If you are accepted, you will be given instructions on how to complete everything.

Hello guys ! I have been keeping an eye on this forum but decided not to post on it until I was submitted my application, which i did submit today ! I know super last minute but I was struggling with one of the sections in the HESI a bit until I finally passed today and I'm ecstatic lol. I know this is nothing compared to what we will be dealing with in nursing school but I have succeeded the first step and I am moving forward from here ! I am a little nervous because I have a 3.0 GPA and scored in the 80's on the hesi, but if this is what God wants for me I know I will succeed. And so will everyone else applying. Good luck to you all !
Nichole, I wasn't considered an alternate for the August term, but I still received an email back in June stating that my application would be moved to the the January application pool. I just wanted to clarify if that is correct even though we weren't an alternate?
Yes, you will be considered as well. Let me edit my post from earlier.
(Updated post from earlier!)

Hello Nicole! I am a Miami Dade student who basically did everything right on time.. (Hopefully) my Transcripts are being reviewed, I emailed my HESI scores already to a Health Advisor who helped me out on the phone, I also paid my dues. My application status says that I haven't sent in any proof of residency, so my question is if I do this late will it affect my being considered for the program? I realize this is the last day so it makes me feel as if I missed something and now it's too late. I had never applied to Broward before or been to any of the campuses and like I said I did everything just in time.
Also on the limited access application, it says that my high school transcripts have not been received.. I graduated In 2013 and I'm just transferring from Miami Dade, do I have to send those?

Residency documents won't affect your consideration for the program.
Who did you send your HESI scores to?
If you are receiving financial aid, you will want your high school transcripts in.
Nichole
Ok I will look into sending in my high school transcripts, Will that affect anything if I do that late?
This morning I got in contact over the phone with someone named Silfise Pubien and she told me to send her the HESI scores through email because they had to be in today and I didn't know how to send them at such short notice.
She also told me she put in a request to have my transcript evaluated since on the application it says that they have been received but not evaluated. I really hope that I am doing everything correctly considering such short notice!
