Hello!
I just wanted to make a thread for nursing program at BC for this coming Fall semester.
I passed the Hesi last week after 4 days of studying. (Got tired of studying the Elvesier book so I took my chances)
My overall score: 85%. My lowest score's reading: 78% ( English is my second language and I took this section last so didn't have enough time to really read the questions)
I turned in my application last Wednesday. The lady said to look for an email around May- June.
Anyone is applying for Fall? Did your status on myBC change yet?
Did anyone notice that the requirement: Florida Laws and Rules for Nursing, has two different cae #'s on two of the forms they gave us. Which one do we use?
Good morning,
In pre-admissions I explained that you are to register off the CAE sheet with the reference numbers. I am aware of the misprint on the contracts.
Nichole
I just finished taking my certifications on CEUFAST.COM.Aids/Hiv 4 hours
Medical Errors and Risk Management 2 hours
Tuberculosis 2 hours
Infection Control & Barrier Precautions 4 hours
Hepatitis C beyong the basics 2.5 hours
Domestic Violence, sexual violence, intimate partner violence 3 hours
OSHA 2 hours
Florida Law and rules that govern the practice of nursing 3 hours
are these okay? Does anybody know? those are the only ones I could find, I saw some of the hours were a bit different so it's making me a bit nervous. If anybody knows I would greatly appreciate it!
Did anyone find out if these were okay? I also registered and noticed the same differences. However, I see the main subject is the same and the hours (if different, are actually more than required)
Hey,2 questions:
1) The CEUfast certifications will be accepted to fulfill the core requirements? do they cost anything?
2) Did any of you recieve an email with the reference numbers to prepare to register for classes as of yet?
Thanks
I'm wondering the same about which courses should be taken as the equivalent. The site says $30 for a year of unlimited courses.
I've been looking out for the email but haven't received anything yet.
Has anyone gotten the email that would have the registration course #s for each campus that Nichol mentioned? I haven't gotten anything so I wanted to make sure I don't need to be freaking out!
I haven't received the email yet either. I am sure we will get it tomorrow since registration begins Thursday.

1) ceu website is $30.00 , see if they send you an email about any codes, because it will only cost you $25.00 if they send you one. (try BROWARD , it might not work anymore though)
2)sorry it took me so long to send these to you guys. These are the ceu's I did that were accepted by North:
OSHA: Occupational Exposure to Blood Borne Pathogens-1 hour
1 Contact Hour
Tuberculosis
2 Contact Hours
Infection Control and Barrier Precautions
4 contact hours
Medical Errors Prevention and Risk Management
2 contact hours
Hepatitis C: Beyond the Basic - Understanding Hepatitis C
2 contact hours
Florida Law and Rules that Govern the Practice of Nursing
3 contact hours
Domestic Violence, Sexual Violence, Intimate Partner Violence
3 contact hours
AIDS/HIV Four Hour, Current Evidence Based Practice
4 contact hours
also, if you're going to North and are expecting financial aid, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE keep on top of them like rabid dogs. They are very inefficient, and have messed up aid for alot of those in my class; alot of us haven't even received our loans and those were supposed to be dispersed 5/25. Your classes will be dropped if your aid isn't in to cover the classes, and the office won't bother to tell you that, so make sure to get your class due date extended if you need to.
Mr Egan St Micheal is a great resource and he actually responds back in a timely manner to help you out as much as he can.
Hello everyone,
Emails have NOT been sent out yet. In pre-admissions I explained they would be sent out either Tuesday or Wednesday but that you would have them before Thursday morning for registration.
The email from me regarding background checks, etc. will go out later this week, or early next week.
