Broward College Nursing Program August 2016

Updated:   Published

Hello!

I just wanted to make a thread for nursing program at BC for this coming Fall semester.

I passed the Hesi last week after 4 days of studying. (Got tired of studying the Elvesier book so I took my chances)

My overall score: 85%. My lowest score's reading: 78% ( English is my second language and I took this section last so didn't have enough time to really read the questions)

I turned in my application last Wednesday. The lady said to look for an email around May- June.

Anyone is applying for Fall? Did your status on myBC change yet?

I take it May 9th! Thank you guys. @bethanyblush congrats on the points [emoji108]🏼 hope to be seeing you in August!

Hey guys I talked to Nicole yesterday she said once they get all applications by May 15 and start reviewing they plan to start sending out acceptance letters at the end of May 🤗

Math has a lot of ratios, some basic math, fractions and unit measurement. AP has a little of everything. I've taken it AP twice already bc my score wasn't all that great (I took AP 2 years ago :cautious:) so I think i'll be trying one more time to get a better score. Best of luck :)

If you guys have a good GPA don't psych yourselves out trying to get extremely high scores on the HESI. Since the HESI is used as a tie breaker, just do your absolute best and as long as you've passed each section you should be fine! The most important factor is the prerequisite GPA which is where our points are pulled from! Good luck to you all taking the HESI, trust your knowledge always!

How was your exam!?

Lol idk. I'm taking it this Tuesday

How was the exam?!

How was the exam?!

I did ok. I passed the AP, vocabulary, & grammar. I got 72% on both the reading and math. The reading I did 4th and I feel by then my brain was tired lol. I'm gonna retake it may 9th so that way I'm done with classes and finals and can focus on studying for those topics. How have you been studying?

Hello has anyone's application updated to anything? mine says application in review but my high school transcripts says they are not received as well as my hesi score is not there and neither is the gpa points or the application fee! I submitted everything on February 25! very nervous and excited! deadline is may 15 I can't wait to hear if we are all in!!

Awesome! I'm taking it again on May 9th as well! I can't pass A&P, math or vocab. This will be my third time taking it. I got the same scores for A&P and math but did better on vocab just need to get that 75 or higher. I'm waiting till after finals as well that's why I chose May 9th. Did you find the A&P to be hard? Honestly the second time I felt it was a lot harder then the first time[emoji30] wish I would have gotten it on the first try. I've been using the HESI app as well as looking through the book and on quizlet what about you?

Hey! My application says in review also and I received my gpa points and HESI is checked off. The transcripts thing and fee are two things that still weren't updated. My transcripts have always been at BC so that may be an error and I paid the fee beginning of March! Good luck to you! Hope to see you in the future!

The vocabulary words that I got on the Hesi were not even in the book í ½í¸’. If there's like 60 vocab words in the book, only like 4 were on the Hesi for me. I had to use contex clues and common sense to figure out a few of them. I got a lot of AP1 stuff like bones....I remember a few AP2 questions about the uriniary system and like 1 or 2 digestive system questions. The book is pretty much the same for the math as the Hesi so continue to use that. Quizlet didn't really help me to be honest but I know a lot of people use it. Are you currently going to north campus now?
