Hello!
I just wanted to make a thread for nursing program at BC for this coming Fall semester.
I passed the Hesi last week after 4 days of studying. (Got tired of studying the Elvesier book so I took my chances)
My overall score: 85%. My lowest score's reading: 78% ( English is my second language and I took this section last so didn't have enough time to really read the questions)
I turned in my application last Wednesday. The lady said to look for an email around May- June.
Anyone is applying for Fall? Did your status on myBC change yet?
Hey everyone I got in for May term. If you are going to take the hesi test I recommend you study your basic math like fractions, mixed numbers, ratios and proportions and memorize your gallons in ounces, pints, quarts, etc. for anatomy I say it's hit or miss. It could be anything. You can get some simple stuff like what type of joint is the elbow or something more complex like meiosis and mitosis, DNA, RNA. What helped me was l going in with the idea that if maybe I don't pass the first time I can retake it. I got a 70 on my anatomy and when I looked over my remediation material I knew exactly what I got wrong. I retook it and got a 92% on anatomy.
Also, when I was applying and was on allnurses I became consumed with what my peers were getting on their hesi. A lot of people will say they got a cumulative 98% or something else high but honestly they just what a 76% or better to consider you for the program. I made the mistake of taking in a few times just to get a high score because I thought it mattered. Don't get discouraged by what other people get. They could have a 100% on their hesi but a 2.5 gpa and not get in. It's the luck of the draw. Good luck!
Go on quizlet and search HESI A2 entrance exam anatomy & physiology, etc.
I saw a lot of those questions on my HESI, along with the HESI A2 app. Studying the app and those questions until you're hitting 100s will benefit you. I scored a 96 on the anatomy portion.
Also, my application was updated today! I got 16 points for GPA, so excited to get an official acceptance next month! HESI scores are used only as tie breakers for GPAs, so don't freak out about your average needing to be extremely high. However, do your best of course. Hope to see you all in the future during this journey of ours!
