Hello!
I just wanted to make a thread for nursing program at BC for this coming Fall semester.
I passed the Hesi last week after 4 days of studying. (Got tired of studying the Elvesier book so I took my chances)
My overall score: 85%. My lowest score's reading: 78% ( English is my second language and I took this section last so didn't have enough time to really read the questions)
I turned in my application last Wednesday. The lady said to look for an email around May- June.
Anyone is applying for Fall? Did your status on myBC change yet?
Hey everyone!
I'm turning in my application Monday for the August term.
I have a 4.0 gpa, 88% overall on the HESI with a 96 in A&P, 88 in Vocab, 88 in Grammar, 90 in Reading Comp, and 80 in Math!
Any readings suggested or pdf files of the books please let me know!
Also, for anyone who has submitted their applications for August 2016 already, has anyone's status changed or has anyone received points already?
Look forward to meeting you all one day!
Kingrn2018 said:@bethanyblush how did you study for the HESI and how long did you study before you took the test? I'm also applying for August but I haven't finished my math class so I can't apply yet! Hope we get in [emoji120]
Hi!
I downloaded the HESIA2 app, it's $12.00 but I used it and took all the practice tests for about three days before my exam. I also used quizlets under HESIA2 ENTRANCE exam to study. They have quizlets for each of the sections, so search for vocab, grammar, math conversions, and A&P. I also used the Elsevier practice book online. If you have a BC ID, you can search it on the online library database.
I have a great background and understanding for A&P being that it was my favorite subject. I reviewed old notes I had for that as well.
Honestly, it's a lot easier than you think!
Study the parts of the ears, eyes, and basic anatomical terminology. I noticed a lot of the practice tests included the ear and eyes a lot!
For grammar, just review the terms subject, predicate, clause, etc.
Vocabulary is all context clues for the words you might not know.
Reading is just questions based on the passages provided.
Each section was 55 questions with the exception of A&P which was 30.
Goodluck!

I don't work and I still feel like I don't have enough hours in the day. Schedule depends on ur class time for for lecture and also for math. I go monday 8 to 715 on Monday bc I go to the lab before my lecture at 1. Tues is 730 to 7. We'd I have off but I go to the library to study all day. Thursday i go 8 to 5 bc I go to lab before math at 1. Friday I go 8 to 4 bc I go to the lab before lecture. Saturday and Sunday I meet with my group to study which is usually about 10 to 12 hours each day. So it's crazy. Form a group before you start. I met people on here and we started studying before classes started. If you see people only want to gossip n talk and not study drop them right away and get a new group. Don't study with more than 4 people max.
Ashley! Your information and tips have been grand. Is there anyway I can email you for any tips once the program starts for me?
I'm so nervous about it.
@johnsj48 I'm sorry! Don't give up you'll get in! Did you miss the deadline ??
@birdyy16 I think I read in previous threads that once your in the program they do give you the option to sign up for the scholarship to work at one of the hospitals but I'm pretty sure they choose who they want to interview and pick from there. I was thinking of doing that too.

Hey they consider it open ended but the advisor said they have to put a deadline to it in order to send acceptance letters and make orientation etc. So the deadline for August is May 15th I was told.
