Broward College Nursing Program August 2016

Updated:   Published

Hello!

I just wanted to make a thread for nursing program at BC for this coming Fall semester.

I passed the Hesi last week after 4 days of studying. (Got tired of studying the Elvesier book so I took my chances)

My overall score: 85%. My lowest score's reading: 78% ( English is my second language and I took this section last so didn't have enough time to really read the questions)

I turned in my application last Wednesday. The lady said to look for an email around May- June.

Anyone is applying for Fall? Did your status on myBC change yet?

I was wondering if anyone's primary objective in the bc page changed to nursing?

lets all jus be patient guys lol, checking it everyday wont make it difference til june 15th:laugh:

im anxious as well just trying to not drive myself crazy lol

12 days....as I start getting nervous again lol [emoji120]

im beyond nervous lol

The statement that almost everyone gets in is INCORRECT. Last semester there were over 100 students who applied and were eligible that DID NOT get accepted. The lowest GPA that was accepted was a 3.0. Students with a 2.9 were our alternates.

It is a competitive admission and for August it will be no different.

There goes my answer. I don't think my 2.8 is good enough to get accepted :/

That is NOT what is meant by that answer. Every semester is different as the applicant pools are different. We have had semesters where students with 2.5 to 4.0 have been accepted, and semesters like the May term where 3.0 to 4.0 were accepted. It just depends on the strength of the applicants who have applied.

This is not known until right before decisions are made.

One other reminder:

If you are going to email the Health Science Admissions team, PLEASE email from your BC email address. For security reasons, we will not send information about your application to any other address.

I feel your pain I'm crossing my fingers with my 2.7 gpa

I've been stressing now even more hearing only people with 3.0 get accepted. I also read in an old forum that someone with a 2.5 got accepted so I'm not losing hope yet.

same here, trying to remain positive. we may get lucky!

I am thrilled to see I was awarded 16 points. The waiting is so hard, but so worth it.
