Broward College Nursing May 2015

Published

Hi everyone I didn't see one made yet so I guess this will be the official thread for BC May 2015!

Hi phainaht! Mine is at 1pm!

how was it at north? thanks in advance

It's a great program. Very demanding, especially during the first semester but like others before me have said, it really prepares you for what's to come. It will seem overwhelming at first, but don't fret- just take it one day at a time. You will have class 2 days a week, on campus lab days twice a week for the first week and then once a week after that, & math. dun dun dun... haha I'm kidding! A lot of you seem to be fretting over the math... trust me it will be one of the last things on your mind (at first). Plus they will teach you everything you need to know. Just do all of the practice questions they provide, which will be plenty.

Once you get past return demo, things start to look up (at least in my opinion). I get nervous very easily so I was terrified before return demo but you get two chances to pass, so if you don't do well the first time you can practice and come back to do it again. Once that's over, you get to go to clinical which was one of the most exciting things for me.

It's going to seem hard to study, especially with the limited time you will have during the first semester, but use every bit of free time you have to your advantage. Read as much as you can, and take good notes in class so that you can read over them before the exams. Stay focused, try not to get distracted by other things and really use your time wisely. Nursing school takes a lot of dedication and implementation. Stay organized. :writing: ne of the best things I could have done for myself was to get a 1.5 or 2 inch binder for every class and keep all of my paperwork organized within them. Use tabs, and sticky notes. Whatever method works best for you, you will figure it out once you get in the swing of things. Make sure you come prepared for class, every single day. And always remember why you're there. :nurse:Never let your dream/vision escape you.. good luck! You can do it :)

my orientation is at 1:00, April 3

It's when you pick your campus the campuses have there own meetings... the one we are going to is just the general things for the whole program I was told we would fill out a paper saying which campus you prefer and what's the second best and what's your last choice.
