Broward College Nursing May 2014

U.S.A. Florida

Hey there! This is a tread for anyone trying to get into the May nursing program in Broward College. Have you guys completed everything we need?

I still have to take my HESI and I am half way done with the Health Core class. I am so nervous. I am still not completely sure on how BC does the admission criteria, but I have high hopes.

Leave anything below. Lets help each other out :)

Denied pending it will stay like that for awhile it doesn't mean denied- it's pending department approval. :) good luck! Be prepared to read read read. Get your fundamentals of nursing if u can now .

Hi all! I'm staring in august, do professors accept the 7th edition of fundamentals?

They will tell you to get the 8th edition, but personally I decided to use to 7th edition, it's the same thing, different pages.

Have lots of printer ink guys!! Seriously you will be printing at min. Two copies of each clinical document. Follow the task list! Have a folder to keep all your clinical documents and print them all at once so on the day of lab you're not scrimmaging for documents you didn't print. Be good to each other, yes this is independent and we must be responsible for our own successes but be friendly and keep a good amount of people around. A lot of the clinicals is about working well with others ,helping each other out with weak spots and being supportive. We will face many obstacles and challenges so the support does help, no one will understand the early mornings and late nights like your classmate. My family will grow sick of me checking lungs sounds but your partner won't lol. Read read read. In summer all the tests came on fast, august will have a better pace but that doesn't mean it will be a breeze. Apply yourself and think about the end goal it's a great motivator. I am proud to be a student here. Return demos started this morning mine is next week

Hey guys, I've been trying to buy the fundamentals on amazon but I don't know which one to pick because they have different colors one is green and the other's white, Do they accept a specific color or can I just choose whatever's less expensive? lol

And also, do they let you use your electronics in class? So far, how was your first exam?

Ohhh man was everyone stressing over this first exam. You needed to get a 37(74%) or higher to avoid taking the TABE. I managed to scrape by with a 38(76%) haha.

I should've did better though, I didn't really study much at all

Passed first exam and first clinical check off.... happy bit not feeling good about being average... step up time!

Can someone tell me if there is an CD/DVD that helps you better understand nursing questions/test taking strategies? I was told it was available in central campus nursing lab. If so what is the name of it. Your response will be greatly appreciated.

@ above post C's get degree's.

Nursing class of May 2014, we are almost at the finish line for Process 1. We've survived test questions that don't seem to come from anywhere in the readings, modules, or slides; 8 to 14 chapters of readings for an exam, questions that have two correct answers, performing clinical skills without stepping on the blue or leaving the room with patient bed up and balancing endless hours of study with having some type of life. All of this has made life this summer crazy but its also rewarding learning and overcoming these challenges. I wish everyone best of luck at the hospital and finishing up theory and pharm.

Its been a wild ride and this is just the beginning. Have fun and enjoy the journey

Hi everyone I'm new to this but I have been reading all the comments and have found it very helpful. I know that those of you who started the program must be really busy but if you don't mind is there any advice that you can give to the ones waiting to get accepted into the program. I just want to start getting prepared and would like an honest opinion of how the program is in general. Thank you.

I've just been accepted for the BC nursing program, but i'm really stuck between central and south can someone please give me some advice. thanks!
