Hey there! This is a tread for anyone trying to get into the May nursing program in Broward College. Have you guys completed everything we need?
I still have to take my HESI and I am half way done with the Health Core class. I am so nervous. I am still not completely sure on how BC does the admission criteria, but I have high hopes.
Leave anything below. Lets help each other out :)
The dates and times are true for orientation. I too am debating on which campus to apply to. Right now it's between North and Central, though. I have just heard too many bad things about South campus. North I've heard is the best for nursing, but central will have those new health science & nursing buildings up by next Fall so it's a toss up...
I am in the same situation as you....I have heard so many bad things about bout south and central but nothing bad about north. I just want to go to the campus that is going to teach me the most and not fail me for stupid things. I know nursing school is doable at any campus but when you hear the horror stories of professors failing you for the littlest things I get worried. Anyways I got my fundamentals book and I am going to start reading ahead because apparently our 1st test will be on 7 chapters and each chapter is about 30 pages long lol.
Can you pm it to me as well please? They told us that they were going to email us the orientation date. Thank god you guys got it
I don't have the paper with me right now but she told me she's emailing the copy as well. It just has the date and time and the due date of all your documents which is May 12. And it has like a checklist for the stuff we went over in orientation that we have to turn in. And also the order the paperwork in your portfolio has to be
Where did you hear about the orientation date?
Yes, the deans from each campus handed out sheets of paper with important dates including orientation and when all of the paperwork is due for each campus. [i went to the 1 PM meeting, maybe they didn't have them at the 9 AM?]
Do any of you know what the equivalent class for TB/OSHA Hepatitis is on CEUfast.com? I have found the other 3 but can't seem to find an equivalent for that one. I know BLS has to be done in person too, right?

Domestic violence 2 hours
Prevention of Medical Errors 2 hours
Hep C: Beyond the Basic 2 hours
Infection Control and Barrier Prec. 4 hours
Tuberculosis 2 hours
Osha: Exposure to Blood Borne Pathogens 1 hour
I brought these certificates to the Nursing Dept on Central and the Executive Assistant reviewed them and said they were the right ceu's
