Broward College Nursing May 2014

Published

Hey there! This is a tread for anyone trying to get into the May nursing program in Broward College. Have you guys completed everything we need?

I still have to take my HESI and I am half way done with the Health Core class. I am so nervous. I am still not completely sure on how BC does the admission criteria, but I have high hopes.

Leave anything below. Lets help each other out :)

any info on what they said or is it classified? I notice after orientation lots of forums go silent lol

Lol funny. Hopefully I won't be silent on Monday after mine.

I don't think there was any ground breaking information. They went over the amount of time you will devote to classes/clinical and study time. On the slide said would be 100 hours devoted to nursing school.

There are 168 hours in a week so yeah not much time for anything else

Registration will start on Thursday April 17th @ 8am and will end April 23rd @4pm

Your drug screen will automatically be charged to your account must have that paid before you can register 29 bucks

Make sure your financial aid is for 2013-2014 for May term: contact financial aid and the health admissions team if there any issues

Each campus will send everyone registration info for their campus- We get to choose what campus and it will be a first come first serve basis

Cpr cards must say: for Healthcare Provider BLS and be from AHA

you can do classes at CEUFast.com but their breakdown for courses has different names and hours for some

Aid/HIV 4 hours

Domestic violence 2 hours

Prevention of Medical Errors 2 hours

Hep C: Beyond the Basic 2 hours

Infection Control and Barrier Prec. 4 hours

Tuberculosis 2 hours

Osha: Exposure to Blood Borne Pathogens 1 hour

These are the classes I took I believe they are correct will double check with the office wed or fri

Its 30 bucks to take unlimited ceu's there so save a few bucks from taking at Broward

**And you should verify everything you read on AllNurses.com**

so don't take anything I say as gospel

I heard centrals orientation is April 29th from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm and north campuses orientation is May 6th from 9:00 to 3:00 as well and I don't know when south campuses is. That is what a friend told me but don't quote me on that. I too am going out of town at the beginning of May and now it looks like I just might not be going anywhere lol.

Hi everyone! I wish I would have found this forum earlier... I just found it yesterday & I too was at the pre-admission session at 1:00 today. Very excited but also nervous/anxious for the program to start! Just wanted to say that a lot of what you guys talked about on here was very helpful & I look forward to seeing some of you in class!

I really hope that is true for central because it would be perfect! I still havent decided if I want to go to south or central. South is closer to me but I just have a feeling I would like central more.

The dates and times are true for orientation. I too am debating on which campus to apply to. Right now it's between North and Central, though. I have just heard too many bad things about South campus. North I've heard is the best for nursing, but central will have those new health science & nursing buildings up by next Fall so it's a toss up...

Every campus will have something you don't like. And remember those are just opinions. Everyone has to have their own experience. Just pick something that's close to home.
