Broward College Nursing May 2014

Published

Hey there! This is a tread for anyone trying to get into the May nursing program in Broward College. Have you guys completed everything we need?

I still have to take my HESI and I am half way done with the Health Core class. I am so nervous. I am still not completely sure on how BC does the admission criteria, but I have high hopes.

Leave anything below. Lets help each other out :)

Yeah I scheduled an appointment with my primary doctor but I am sure you can go to any place and get it done. I know 365 doctors in plantation does the physicals there. Does anyone know when we can register for classes?

I think we can register after orientation and we choose which campus were going to. I'm pretty sure they will let us register pending we turn in all our documents

Hello, I've been stalking this thread since it began and your post just gave me so much hope!! Congrats on getting into the program I wish you all the best!! After seeing all these high GPA's I started to get discouraged that I probably couldn't get into the program, but you just showed me that I can do it. My GPA isn't that high either (overall gpa 3.05 and my program gpa is a 2.93) and I was getting really scared to apply because I was feeling intimidated. I'm so glad I came across your post because now I feel that I have a chance. Thank you sooo much!!!

Quick Question:

I finished all my prerequisites for the program but I decided to take MCB2010 and the lab to get it over with. Since we don't need this class to get into the program do you guys think I still have time to apply for the summer? Does it matter if my microbiology class isn't over until the beginning of May?

Thanks again!!!

Thank you Lord, you're amazing. Pre Admission I can't believe it. I received the email too and replied. For those of you future applicants, if you have a low gpa like me, apply early and apply for the summer session. I had a 2.7 gpa and 83 on the hesi 3 points only. Yeah that is a miracle!!! I had to double check.

Someone mentioned that all seats were filled for May, best bet would be to call admissions and double check.

So I want to get the physical and drug test and background check out of the way but at the same time I want to wait until orientation because I don't want anything to be wrong. Is there anyone who has done either and turned it in already and they said it was good? And if you did turn it in where did you submit it to?

Yeah, I emailed several people in admissions and I only got one response telling me all seats were filled for May. I take it with a grain of salt because ill probably get different information from the others. Either way, good luck to us all.

Hey where do I go to get the drug test done? I only see where I have to go to get my fingerprinting done. Also where did everyone get there physical done and what does it entail. I am just curious on how we get a record of all of our immunizations. Also when you guys went and did the physical did they also do the tuberculous chest X-ray as well? I just completed the certified background check on certified background.com so I am glad that is out of the way but now I have to take care of the other two things.

You get the drug form at orientation. The fingerprinting is in Plantation.

Okay so I figured out all my paperwork. I did the online background check at certifiedbackground.com like were told and it came out to $38 and results should come back between 48-72 hours and they send it to BC. The documents for the physical and the fingerprinting is on the nursing page as well, I don't have insurance so I will be doing my physical at Doctors 365 on plantation for $30. If you don't have your immunization record they offer titers at discounted pricing for students. The location for the fingerprinting is on the documents as well and it's in plantation and they take walk ins and they close at 5 pm. The last thing I need is the drug test which we do at quest diagnostics but we need to wait until orientation for that paper. Also as for registration, I read on older forums that they email you all the course codes to register and you have to wait to register until a certain date, if you register before they drop you. I'm so excited ladies only a couple more days until orientation! I want to go to Central campus anyone else here trying to go there?

Yeh I'm hoping to go to central too, that's where I did all my prereq and I'm familiar with the place.

I suggest you go to the campus you want to attend and ask them if they have seats left. Some people might change their mind and want to wait for august, if there're not a lot of people waiting apply anyways, you never know.

There's a declining numbers of students applying to Bc nursing since last year. They even called people that they denied on previous term if they want to attend Bc. I think as long as you meet the hesi requirements and even with low points you can get in since not a lot of people applying.

Hi!

I am also starting the May 2014 program generic RN. I would like to know if anyone will be attending the South campus? Also, do any of you know what books to buy yet? I would like to get a heads start. Good luck to everyone!!!
