Broward College Nursing May 2014

U.S.A. Florida

Hey there! This is a tread for anyone trying to get into the May nursing program in Broward College. Have you guys completed everything we need?

I still have to take my HESI and I am half way done with the Health Core class. I am so nervous. I am still not completely sure on how BC does the admission criteria, but I have high hopes.

Leave anything below. Lets help each other out :)

Hey fernandesnicole15, I took the CORE at Sheridan too, and my status is "application in review".

I was following the last year May group and I was expecting news close to the 15th but...no answer until now.

Hopefully we find out this week.

I'm so anxious, I'm refreshing my email each 10min after 15th lol

Hey guys I went to the nursing department today at central campus and asked them why my status still says "Denied-Pending Department approval" and she told me that it is because they have to verify the health career core class if you didn't take it at Broward College. I then asked her why it was taking them so long to verify it and she told me not to worry that we are not going to find out if we got accepted or not until mid-March because the application process is not open ended and there is no deadline to apply. I just want to find out and like you am extremely anxious everyday. When did you turn in your application crisjac?

I meant to put the application process is open-ended.

So I just got back from taking my HESI and I am so ANGRY! Math- 94% Reading- 90% Grammar -88% A&P -76% Vocab - 74% so I have to retake the vocab on Monday, since I am already retaking it I am going to redo A&P too. I spoke to the health admission today and they also told me they aren't even looking at applications until after spring break. Im so ready to turn my application in

Hi fernandesnicole15 I applied on Jan 15th

Yeah, I called yesterday and they're still receiving applications.

mbrown don't be discouraged a lot of people I know did poorly on the vocab part because a lot of the words were not in the study guide books. My advice to you is to go to quizlet and type in hesi vocab words and study all of them. Between knowing all those and all the words in the book you should do just fine the next time around. The A&P section was also a very broad section and I had to take it twice but the second time I took it i scored in the 90's so just go over all the systems and know what each one does because I feel like the majority of the questions were on that, especially the endocrine system. Crisjac I applied last week so maybe that is why my status hasn't changed yet so hopefully it will change soon. What campus do you guys want to go to?

Oh it's true too soon, I applied a month ago.

I want to go to central campus, I did all my classes there and also it is close to my home.

I am hoping for North or Central but I hear so much horror stories about all the campuses, it scares me!!!!

I did all me prereq at central and both north and central is basically the same distance from my home.

Thanks I am going to be studying this all weekend. I want South even though Ive heard the horror stories, but it is the closest to me. Do we get to choose?

I am not really sure how it works but one of my friends had a high gap and hesi score and when she got her acceptance letter she got to choose the campus she wanted to go too so I am assuming if you have a high hesi score and Gpa then you get to choose which campus you go to but if not I think they assign it for you. My friend scored low on her hesi and they picked south campus for her. I want to go to north campus so bad just because I have heard such bad things about the other campuses but central campus is literally right down the street from my house and plus they are building that new science nursing stimulation building there which is really cool. At least point though I am just hoping I get in because either way I will be happy.
