Broward College Nursing May 2014

U.S.A. Florida

Hey there! This is a tread for anyone trying to get into the May nursing program in Broward College. Have you guys completed everything we need?

I still have to take my HESI and I am half way done with the Health Core class. I am so nervous. I am still not completely sure on how BC does the admission criteria, but I have high hopes.

Leave anything below. Lets help each other out :)

Hey mimiluvscakes I feel like you and I are both in the same position. I also have a bachelors degree from FAU in marketing and now I am back in school for nursing. I feel like your GPA and hesi score is good enough to get you in so I wouldn't worry. I also feel that not a lot of people really want to apply for the May term because it is over the course of 6 weeks so everything is at a faster pace over the summer and that may overwhelm a lot of people. I just want to find out already if I got in or not because the suspense is killing me.

Hey mimiluvscakes don't worry I applied Feb 6 and mine just says 'application in review'. They told me I should find out mid-late February but I'm still playing the waiting game, and now I see they're telling people mid march. I think we should all be fine getting in, they told me they have less applicants in the summer so our chances are higher

I just spoke to health science admissions and she said not worry def by mid march they will cut off and have looked at all the applications by then and make their decisions, she said they will only go back to accepting and looking at applications after that date if the 150 seats have not been filled or they had to deny a student because of no response. SHE TOLD ME TO WARN EVERYONE: STALK YOUR EMAILS AND WATCH OUT FOR THE DEADLINE RESPONSE DATE BECAUSE IF SHE DOESN'T HEAR FROM YOU SHE WILL DENY AND MOVE ON TO THE NEXT STUDENT. I am just so excited but I will just check my email daily like a stalker and wait it out we aren't too far away.

Yeah I wouldn't worry about it either. Two of my friends got into January's program with a 3.0 GPA and an overall score of a 83% on the hesi so I think that we should all be fine. Summer715 when did yours change to "application in review" and how long ago did you apply? I hope we find out soon but when I summited my application the other day the nursing department said that we would not know until mid-march if we got in or not. I think that mid-march is too long to wait lol, and I want to know sooner so I can start preparing myself and reading ahead. What campus does everyone want to go to?

I turned in my application last week Monday (Feb 10th) and it took about 3 days to change to application in review. It was quick!

Did you pay the $20 application fee? Nothing will happen until you pay that

&& yea I heard mid-March will be the time we hear back

Yeah I paid the 20 dollar fee right after I applied and when I click on my limited access account it says denied-pending approval. Does anyone else's say that? My friends says the same thing so I don't know when it will change to application in review but I was already awarded points. I really cannot take waiting anymore lol it is driving me crazy!!!!

I read in past posts that they leave it with that status for a while

What does everyone else's say?

Mine says "application in review" but I applied early December. I was about a week or two late for the winter term. This wait sux!!! lol

Oh okay! I think that means you're fine right now. When I first turned in my application, that's what it immediately said. Then 2/3 days later it switched.

Like some else said, I've read other ppl's posts from previous semester's & theirs said denied-pending approval a little while before. I would say that if by the end of February it doesn't change, you should call.

Hey guys!

I'm new to this board and so glad to have found one for May 2014. I've completed all my prerequisites, I have two weeks left in the health core class, and have to take hesi exam. I know it's kind of late but is the hesi exam still available at Broward or would I have to take it somewhere else. I don't see it on Broward ' website.

Hi guys I have been following this tread for a while now, but just decided to join.

Applied for May 2014 since January, my status still say "application in review"

does anyone have anything different yet?

No mine still says denied-pending department approval so I called the nursing department today and they said that mine says that because I took the health core class at Sherdian Tech instead of BC and they have to check with them and make sure everything was completed. My status has been like this for a week now so I am not sure when it will change to application in review. Last year the May class found out that they got accepted Feb 15th but this year it seems like it is going to take much longer due to it being open ended now. Hopefully we find out soon.
