Hey everyone!

This is a thread for anyone applying for the January 2012 class at Broward college for the generic nursing track. July 16th was the date to start applying and I believe it closes sometime in October. How many points does everyone have? I had to defer my seat so I will be starting in January for sure at north campus! :D if I can be of any help with questions pertaining to getting in or the HESI I will be glad to help! Good luck everyone!!

Okay, i will def. get on that because I need to get everything done soon :)

can anybody please put the booklist for south campus and state which books i can start reading now?..please

hey tinyjojo, go to the south campus bookstore and buy the orientation packet for the nursing program. it's only about $5. that packet has the book list and other information that you need. i hope this helps =)

Question: As for the A&P section of the Hesi exam, do they test us on the A&P section on the study guide or do we have to go in dept in our lecture books?

I think that the A & P section in the HESI book does not prepare you enough for the test. I would have a good basic understanding of the organ systems if I were you. If your not confident in your A & P knowledge, I would dive back into your lecture book. I feel that that is the only section in the HESI book that doesn't prepare you enough. Other than that, the other sections of the HESI book are very helpful. I hope this helps you =)

Thank you so much...I recently purchased the study guide and notice that this particular section was a short summary of all the systems which was not to helpful. Thanks again...

So when taking the Hesi test at broward, what do you need to bring with you? Just an Id? Are the test scores they print off and give you that day the ones you turn in? Or do I have to wait for official ones?

Hey everyone! Congrats on being accepted into the program and starting soon. I am about to start my 2nd specialty (my 5th class), and wanted to know if anyone is need of the Perry and Potter book for process 1 and 2 (good condition), the Davis Drug Guide (brand new), or the Fundamentals Review book(good condition)? I attend North Campus btw. Let me know if you are interested. I don't need these books anymore and they are taking up room on my bookshelf. Best of luck to everyone, and study hard!

Hi iwillbeanurse2012

For the Hesi Maths, know your conversions (g to lbs/oz, g to kg etc), ratios, proportions, adding fractions and decimals, converting decimals to fractions and vice versa basic calculations.

The comprehension, reading and Vocab all just test your command and understanding of english so read to expand your vocab and be aware of the correct way to use conjunctions ( eg. when to use it's or its, their/there, you're/your). Know the different between homonyms (eg sun/son)

For Anatomy just make sure you remember what you did in those classes, not too much detail but systems and their functions, glands and their hormones, anatomical planes and cavities. check out this facebook page for some idea of the A&P questions :https://www.facebook.com/readyforthehesi.

Good Luck.
