Hello, this is a thread for any current nursing students at Broward college or those who have recently been accepted. I'm a bit confused on Broward's admission criteria. What classes exactly do they use to calculate the gpa?
There's 2 orientations, the first will be at Central campus and the next one will be at the campus you choose. I don't know how they're going to do it for your term but they give you enough time to get everything done before you start
Okay thanks for the infor.. You are in the program now?
You're welcome. Yes, this is my first semester. Just got through the first week; I'm at North. A little advice have a printer and LOTS of ink because there's soooo much to print. And there's A LOT of reading to do; read ahead (please don't fall behind) and have a planner to stay organized (being organized will makes things so much easier) and if you don't have to work don't (only if you don't have to the program is still doable if you do) you'll need to manage your time wisely!! Form a study group (I'd say 5 students at the most) pay attention to the students that ask questions and try to get them in your group; you don't want or need anyone in your study group that's behind on the reading and not staying on topic when you guys are studying (drop them as soon as it happens, it may seem harsh but you don't have time for those type of people) I'm not working so the program is all I have to worry about. Heading to the library this morning to meet with my group. Yes on a Saturday lol our first test is week after next and it covers 12 chapters!
I'm really enjoying it so far, all the instructors I've met are really nice and you can tell they want you to succeed. The math teacher is nice but she is TEDIOUS and she tells you EXACTLY how she wants things done; you can't change anything just do the problems how she teaches you and forget how you were taught to do them before and you'll be fine.
GOOD LUCK and remember when things seem tough and you feel like giving up, PLEASE DON'T, just keep pushing!!!! :)
Wow! Thanks for the heads up, thanks for taking the time to write it out, too 💗
Praying I get in, I will make the most out of every second. I am fortunate I do not have to work so my time will be dedicated to this.
App is 'In Review' .. Who knows how long that will take to change. 😛
Thanks again âŒâ•ï¸âŒ
I don't want to discourage anyone by sharing my real reasons for withdrawing. However, I was a little turned off by BC's way of doing things and did not see it as a fit for me. Different strokes for different folks! I wish you all the best. Just keep your options open and do your research.
Hey Acitrone 2011 we have a thread going for the may 2015 applicants just look us up. Lots of us on there and we're all helping each other out as much as we can. Good luck to all of you that just started the program in January! Hope all is going well for all of you! Can't wait till May! :)
I also decided to drop out of the program. It is a fair program, but you need to be more than prepared mentally and physically. Know how to be very flexible fast. It's not for everyone. I am selling some books, supplies, and uniform. Feel free to contact me and I will send you my email or phone number for details or if you have any questions. I'm pretty objective about giving advice and help. I hope to get some money back, I'll be selling at a discount.
Good luck everyone who decides to apply and stay.
