Broward college Nursing Jan 2015

Published

Hello, this is a thread for any current nursing students at Broward college or those who have recently been accepted. I'm a bit confused on Broward's admission criteria. What classes exactly do they use to calculate the gpa?

For all those who are starting january and need to purchase books cheaper please let me know. I go to the south campus and I will be selling some of my books and supplies at a cheaper price for those who are paying for class out of pocket.

Good luck! I started in the summer and it's no joke. It's possible. Study a lot. Everything will try to overwhelm you, but don't let it. You can do this.

Is that really a question from your specialties? I'm not usually afraid of math even though I don't understand that question, but I know if there is a lot of bookwork and reading I might get frustrated. I also suffer from anxiety and I might struggle in clinicals. I started out at BC as a nurse and stopped because I was too afraid of everything and now I'm doing it again. With the grace of God I'm going hang in there. I also have an issue with bullying from professors, but I just need to keep my mouth shut and not say anything stupid.

No it's not a real question, but it's comparable in difficulty. Bullying may happen, but for the most part (Central) is pretty chill.

I plan on going to the north campus, at least that's what I hope. If the north is full when I apply can i go to the south or central for that semester and go to to north the next.

No, you can't. The campus you start out in is the one you finish in except in EXTENUATING circumstances.

Oh man i might not get in for summer then because it's super competitive at the north campus. I have friends who plan to attend north because they can't get into FAU.

Please email me. Interested! [email protected] @littleukno

Why wouldn't you try for Central or South?

I can't imagine driving down there every day for two years straight, maybe one semester but that's it. I drive a van and it cost me a lot of money for gas.

Oh. Well then you'll have to wait until there's room at North campus.

If there is no room at north campus I'm probably going to have to go to another campus. Just hope my income will be a little bit better by then. What did you mean by extenuating reasons? Like for instance loss of transportation?

No. If your job schedule doesn't match well with your lecture schedule and things of that nature. Distance won't cut it. There are classmates of mine in Central who live in NMB. Class and clinical labs that are all week only occur during process 1 and 2. After that, it's 2 day a week lectures and one day a week clinicals (minus the first week of every semester which is two days).
