Broward college Nursing Jan 2015

Hello, this is a thread for any current nursing students at Broward college or those who have recently been accepted. I'm a bit confused on Broward's admission criteria. What classes exactly do they use to calculate the gpa?

I know for a fact we'll need Fundamentals of Nursing 8th edition (I have the 7th edition right now and will be getting the 8th). Is there any other definite books we'll need for Process 1 & 2??

You'll need your Perry and Potter, Jarvis, drug book, lab diagnostics, fluid and electrolytes made easy (not needed but helps a lot).

Happy hump day!!

So I was looking over my schedule (would post a pic but this silly computer I have at work keeps buffering and saying 'not responding'). Anyways, I noticed my first day of class is January 6th and I have Process 1 Lab that day but it just says Hospital 6:30AM. If I'm not mistaken we don't start going to the hospitals until a few weeks into the program but my question is where do we go and do we have to be there at 6:30 AM???? I'm confused lol

Is anyone else's first day of classes Process 1 Lab???

I think they will let us know at Orientation where we need to be on that day.

They mean campus lab.

I hope they do this time. I went to the August orientation at North but they didn't even talk about our schedules then, hope they made some changes this time around. If not I'll have to remember to mention it.

From now until you graduate your first "hospital day" will be campus lab. The math test is the FIRST day and FIRST thing they do each semester. Process students will be in the lab more often until they state the days you go to the hospital. :)

Ok good to know, they'll probably send us an updated schedule as well because mine doesn't have any room numbers they just say 'TBA'

I spoke with the Dean of Nursing at South campus and she said that they will be emailing us about what we need to do in preparation for the first week. I have lab the first day as well and she said that they will let us know where we need to go. It's nerve racking waiting for answers but i guess time will tell. :geek:

Hey you guys!! I know this is an old question but I just printed my certificates from CEUfast for the ceu courses.

The email we got from Nichole said the certificates had to have a FBN# or CEBroker#.

Do the CEUfast certificates have those #"s?

Cause I don't want them to say those certificates aren't right or something....
