Hello, this is a thread for any current nursing students at Broward college or those who have recently been accepted. I'm a bit confused on Broward's admission criteria. What classes exactly do they use to calculate the gpa?
Hey Everyone ,
Things have been so hectic for me preparing for this program. I have not gotten the chance to come on here at all. So I am happy to be back. How are things going for you all, especially my fellow Central Campus people? I need help! For those of you with insurance how much are you having to pay at your Doctors for your physical and shots? Or is it worth it regardless of having insurance to go to Doctors 365 or 360 (whatever its called lol) and pay the $295 for everything? Also when it comes to the drug test we had to take, who went to the Quest Diagnostics next to Memorial South? Is it just me or were they rude and unprofessional? All I got back was a thin strip of paper with things printed on it, while another student there for the same purpose received a copy of a form that had more info on it and had his signature and the person who helped him signature on it. When I asked why we are receiving two different things when we are there for the same purpose she responded "because I put yours in the system already. Not everybody does it the same way." I sure hope I have the right copy.
Also in regards to the drug test was anyone else not told before hand that the test was timed? I was startled by banging on the door and her yelling "open the door now". I openend the door with my pants unzipped and unbuttoned. Then she said "go wash your hands right there" she procceeded to collect my urine sample without me being in the bathroom, so I didnt even get to see what she did. By the time I looked inside the bathroom she was on her way out. This made me feel very uneasy. Not saying I feel she had bad intent but by me not seeing what she did with my sample she could have done anything to it!!! Did this happen to anyone else? Is there anyway we can check our results? I just want to be sure no funny business went on. My boyfriend says i'm crazy
for thinking the worse. You guys think im overreacting?

You kinda are overreacting. The reason they time you is because people have altered drug tests by bringing in another cup of someone's urine and swapping it. They are afraid YOU'LL do something to it. Relax. To her, you're not that important for her to risk her job by altering your test.
I'm sorry that happened. They should have told you it was timed. That was unprofessional. I went to the same location, but was fortunate to have a kind lady do the drug test. She had me sign the form the school gave us. I was only given the receipt slip as well. I believe that is all we need to turn in for that.

Thanks for your help! Glad you didn't have the same experience lol.
LOL thanks. That I understand, I just wish she would've told me that before hand. I dont remember seeing that on the sheet they made us read before hand either. The other student was told before hand but he also was helped by someone else. But hey, it is what it is.
She should've told you regardless, so it's a mistake on her part.

Either one is fine. Some labs give a small receipt and some give a carbon copy of the form. Just make copies of whatever they gave you.
Congrats all of you for getting into the program!! :) I started the program in august and I am going to be 100% honest with you it's been rough. We started with around 140 people in process 1 and when we started process 2 a few weeks ago there was about 80 of us(some being retrackers from process 2 the previous semester), after our math competency exam for process 2 we now only have about 40 students. I'm not telling you this to scare you but rather to emphasize how demanding this program is. What you hear is true, you will have zero life and perry and potter textbook will be your boyfriend/girlfriend who you'll spend ALLLLL your time with lol. It is doable as long as you stay focused and don't associate yourself with people who are not serious about the program as it will only bring you down. When you start process 1 you'll have lecture, clinical, math class, pharmacology, and mandatory lab hours that you need to put in every week until return demo 1. My advice is to begin reading as soon as you get your syllabus so you don't find yourself even more overwhelmed for the first test with everything else that will be going on. Enjoy your free time and your holidays and good luck to everyone!!
