Hello, this is a thread for any current nursing students at Broward college or those who have recently been accepted. I'm a bit confused on Broward's admission criteria. What classes exactly do they use to calculate the gpa?
I'm already in my last specialty. I only have Ortho, Cardio, and Trends. I'm at Central, i just love helping fellow students out because I was once in your shoes, but nobody helped me. It was scary, but I'm pulling through. I want all of you to pull through. :)
Hi I'm really nervous about Browards program after reading some of the posts. Can you explain any difficulties you had in the program, what are some good study tips. Will we be required to sign a contract at orientation, what does it mean to retract ? Thanks for all the info!

Difficulties occur for many reasons. At times I didn't "click" with an instructor or students. The material covered was sometimes not on the exams. Not enough material was covered sometimes. The test questions are not realistic to what you're taught. They "weed" you out, so to speak.
Study tips: Find as many case studies as possible to practice your critical thinking skills. Practice questions as well. Don't slack on the material and always read ahead.
Yes, you'll sign a "contract". You'll also sign one every term in the syllabus.
Retrack: If you fail a class you have to take a remedial course (college success skills) and wait until the next term to retake the same class. You'll no longer graduate with your group. You're originally on a "track". Fail = fall off track. Retrack=get back on track. I retracked with Peds. I'm currently retaking it and will graduate in May instead of this December with my original class.
Hope this helps!
