Hello, this is a thread for any current nursing students at Broward college or those who have recently been accepted. I'm a bit confused on Broward's admission criteria. What classes exactly do they use to calculate the gpa?
We need more members for Central Campus Facebook Group. Shoot me a Facebook friend request at [email protected], that way I'm able to add you guys to the group!
Thank you so much Mariposa. What did you use to practice your critical thinking skills?
You're welcome. I did case studies and practice questions. Unfortunately, this program's exams aren't realistic. It's not "which is the best answer. ", but "which is the least crappiest answer. " It's not black and white. Use as many resources as possible, but the best ones are case studies, that format follows somewhat the exams you'll be presented with.
Is anyone else going to the October 10th meeting? Want to buddy up prior to?From what I understand, as long as you turn in all your paperwork and attend the orientation you should be in. Correct?
Everyone is going on the 10th it just depends what time your orientation is (either 9:00AM or 1:00PM). What time do you have in your email?
Once your status has changed to Pre-Admission you are accepted into the program; just take the further steps they will explain at orientation on the 10th and you won't be dropped.
Wow thanks for all the info MariposaLPN! You going to North?
I'm already in my last specialty. I only have Ortho, Cardio, and Trends. I'm at Central, i just love helping fellow students out because I was once in your shoes, but nobody helped me. It was scary, but I'm pulling through. I want all of you to pull through. :)

Sorry for the weird question :)) are those specialties part of the program? Or is it further study?

Study. Do not fall behind. Social life is over, at least until Process is over. The lab is your new home. Practice until you can't, then practice more. I gave advice to another student who started August and unfortunately she has to retrack. Retracking is not the end of the world, but it sets you back at least half a year. I'm in the same position. Retracking Peds. Don't slack and buttering up instructors does not work. Be respectful. If you end up with Burroughs strive for perfection. She is not a good instructor. Anyone else seems to be doable. Don't give up if you get her though, my mom had her when SHE was in nursing school and passed. If you guys have any questions don't hesitate to ask. :)
