Hello, this is a thread for any current nursing students at Broward college or those who have recently been accepted. I'm a bit confused on Broward's admission criteria. What classes exactly do they use to calculate the gpa?
MariposaLPN, do you know how long it takes for the drug test results to come back ? And do you have to pick them up when they are in? thank you so much for your help with everything
The drug tests take a couple of days and the results are sent to the school automatically. You don't have to pick them up. :)
@mariposaLPN, I have a question for you. For the HSC classes, when do they usually require us to take them? I m going to Canada for Christmas. With all my fall classes, I wonder if I could take them in December instead. Do they give you a date? Thank you very much for your help....
Are you talking about the Core class or the CEU classes? That would be completed before applying to the program. It's about 70-something total contact hours. If it's the CEU classes, they can be completed after applying to the program. :)
Spouses aren't allowed to attend? I read a previous post that someone encouraged them to come so they can get a better understanding of how demanding the program will be.
Maybe they changed it, but everyone who was in the orientation was either a student, professor, dean of Nursing, or the nursing department. All the seats were filled to capacity so there'd be no room for anyone else.
Hey guys, Iv been reading your posts for a while and I am learning a lot from you guys. I want to enter the program in January 2016. I am doing my pre-reqs now but I have a couple of questions. I only see that the pre-reqs that you talk about are ENC and A&P I & A&P II. But there are other courses required according to the nursing page on the website. for example, we need 3 credit hours of Social/behavioral Science, 3 credit hours of a humanities course. Which is why I am taking Philosophy & Psychology but a girl on another post didn't understand why I was taking those. Did you guys have to take those or am I taking them for no reason? My adviser told me to take them since they are needed for nursing. I am very confused and I would hate to think that I am wasting my time.
