Hi guys!! Haven't seen any threads for May 2018 so I figured why not start one!! I just submitted my application for Broward's May 2018 LPN-RN program so anxiously waiting for the deadline. While I wait I'm attending Keiser to retake A&P 1 and lab to boost grade up! What's everyone doing to pass the time?
Hey Kmichel2018, I saw your private message but it didn't allow me to respond so I will respond here...
Yes I finished my pre-reqs at Keiser and I'm glad I did it, only because it only takes 1 semester to get all your prerequisites (4 weeks each course) as opposed to Broward where it takes like 3 or more semesters. I took my first Anatomy class on campus which I don't recommend. These courses are accelerated and I felt that the classroom time you have to be in there is kind of a waste. We would be there Monday- Friday from 9-2 only to go over slide shows and then I would have to go home and study my ass off because we had a test every week on like 4 chapters.. So I switched all my other classes to online and instead of going in and watching slides from 9-2 I studied from 9-2 everyday and I passed with an A. Everything is online even your tests.
It's very expensive, financial aid covered a lot of it but I'm in some debt so I would only recommend to take these courses at Keiser if you are in a rush to get your pre reqs. and if you can't take any at Broward or any other community college because you already failed them.
No, I'm not going to Broward for the nursing program. I'm going to continue to get my general ed. courses done so that I may transfer to Chamberlain's BSN program. Chamberlain is very expensive but if I get all non-nursing courses (general ed) out the way at Broward then the price will come down significantly and I will have a BSN degree rather than an AS degree.
Hi guys! I'm new here... I applied for the program for may but haven't taken micro :/ I'm trying to take it before the program starts but haven't seen any classes. Bc has a class that starts in march but there's no lab.. Is anyone else trying to do the same? If so, where are you taking the class?
Do yourself a favor and don't buy all of the books right away. Just the nursing math, pharm (which you'll never need to open), and Perry and Potter's Fundamentals of Nursing.
Pharm is Adams, Holland, and Urban.
Math I can't remember it's been so long, but you really just need to know how to cross multiply and figure out word problems.
Has anyone heard anything as for as an estimated date for notifying of acceptance. I've been checking BC limited application every single day like 4x a day lol.
We have 30 business days to send out decisions. Don't kill yourself checking so many times during the day. A few times a week is plenty since if you are accepted you will have ample time to respond if you check your BC email on a regular basis.
