Broward College May 2017

Anyone Applying to the May 2017 program? I wanted to get into the January program but I was missing a math class and couldn't complete it in time for the January program.

Payments can be made while taking the class?

They told me payments can be made....I see some people had to pay up front. I can't pay all that up front anyway, so I think I'm not starating on Monday. IDK yet

OMG I do not like this, the fact that they accept less students worry me. How come they move your application to May, how about if you don't want to apply again, what about first time applicants? Do they take those into consideration first, and then second time applicants, it worry me how they work?

Good afternoon:

If you don't want it moved, you can simply reply to the email stating you are no longer interested. That is the reason we email everyone and let them know it will be moved.

Everyone goes into the pool; doesn't matter if its first time applicants, or students who have applied previously. Decisions are made the same way every semester; highest GPA down, until we fill all seats. If there is a tie in GPA, we determine the tie breaker.

Hi everyone.

For those of you who do not know me, my name is Nichole. I am one of the Health Science Admissions team members. I am not on the board to "spy". Yes the program is hard. Those "horror" stories you have heard, I have heard them too. They are normally from students who are not doing well in the program. I have friends who have gone through the program; some have made it straight through, others have failed courses and had to retrack back into the program.... I have heard it all. I am only here to make sure the correct information is posted. So vent, talk, have a good time. Don't mind me. I usually do not pop up unless reminders are posted, or information needs correcting.

As you are preparing to apply for the May term, please keep these things in mind:

* All transcripts, if you are retaking a course at a private school, applications, and passing HESI MUST be received by February 15 in order to be considered for May.

* When you apply, you are applying to the program, NOT a particular campus.

* Yes we do take credits from Keiser.

* If you applied for August and were not accepted, your application will be moved to May. You do not have to pay the fee again.

* May is a shorter term (12 weeks instead of 16 weeks/ 6 weeks instead of 8 weeks) so it is the same amount of material in a shorter semester.

* For the May term, we accept less students because we also accept for the LPN to RN transition program in that term as well.

In the past we have received less applications for the May term. However, I can't say speculate for this coming May as the last two semesters have been TOTALLY different than in years past.

The problem is I have to retake it at keiser and it's super expensive. $2,200 per class

I retook a class at Keiser last semester and it was $2500 with everything. I just called University of Pheonix and it's $1400 per class. If your interested I can send you the representatives information who assisted me with registering. She was very helpful and they are accredited.

Hello Everyone,

Just here to share my journey and hopefully encourage someone who may be going through the same thing.

I applied to start August 2016 with a GPA of 2.6. I didn't get accepted. I retook Anatomy & Physiology at Kaiser University online

and it cost me $2500. I received a B and that put my GPA at 3.0. I reapplied to start this previous semester January 2017 and was not accepted. I will now be retaking English which I have a B in and Anatomy 2 which I have a B in to hopefully get A's in both to raise my GPA to 3.64. I will be taking them at University of Pheonix which is cheaper than Keiser. They are approximately $1400 a class or $410 per credit hour depending on the class you decide to retake. Unlike Keiser they offer discounts depending on where you may currently be employed and for other affiliations. They are accredited as well and the classes are offered online just like they were at Keiser. I was really sad about not being accepted twice, but i am not defeated! I know that the race is not given to the swift and neither to the strong but to the one who endures until the end. I believe that everything happens for a reason and I know that it will all be on God's divine timing. I prayed that God will be done and that I am able to accept whatever he has planned for me. I normally don't post much on the blog but this term I will keep you all motivated and informed on my journey. If anyone is interested in the information of the Admission Representative from Pheonix who assisted me this morning let me know and I will be more than happy to share!. God Blessings to you all.

are they 4 week classes? all i would have to retake if i dont get in for may would be enc1101, but please tell me the info!
