Broward College May 2017

Anyone Applying to the May 2017 program? I wanted to get into the January program but I was missing a math class and couldn't complete it in time for the January program.

Thanks...I've been using the famous Hesi book + the App Hesi A-2 I have been practicing the Math, and practicing, paying attention to grammar rules, I glanced at the A&P mostly physiology, and I just going to try to do my best, I don't wanna go crazy, bc otherwise I will not focus thinking that I have to much to study.

Good luck to everyone applying for May. My two cents as a current student..

-don't listen to the horror stories. BC has one of the highest pass rates on the state boards consistently; they expect to keep that reputation. the program will weed out those who won't cut it, sorry to say, for whatever reason. BC grads are popular with the hospitals around here as well..many of the nurses we've worked in clinical are BC grads.

-overall; they all want to see you succeed, but they won't spoon feed the material. you hit the ground running like usain bolt from day one & never stop. get used to it now.

-put in the time & say motivated; you'll get through it. It can be stressful at times, not going to lie, spend on average 4 hours a day studying sometimes more. there's no reason you shouldn't pass, if you understand the material. The tests are meant to prepare you for state boards from day one.

- review your AP, get some NCLEX books & start looking at the kinds of questions you'll be tested on.

the program isn't a walk in the park, but it isn't Armageddon either.

thank you so much!!! i was worried because of all the things every one is saying about failing and being sent to LPN school.

Payments can be made while taking the class?

Hey guys,

FYI for anyone interested in retaking a class at Keiser

1 class is about 2500, which includes application fee etc. Payments can be made. The next Date is October 24 until Nov 18, classes are 1 month.

All that is needed is a high school diploma to start.

Payments can be made while taking the class?

they made me pay it all before I started and did not let me do payment plan because classes are only 4 weeks long

Which campus did u go?? Cause they said to my that the class need to be paid in full in order tostart.

yes i make monthly

SAME THING HAPPEN TO ME:no:

they made me pay it all before I started and did not let me do payment plan because classes are only 4 weeks long

For those that took the anatomy and physiology class online at Keiser could you please tell me the books you had to buy? I would really appreciate the help ! Thank you

I'm glad I'm not the only one feeling depressed. I tried for the second time and got denied at a 3.0. I've had to retake both anatomy classes at Keiser, and received B's in both, now I'm probably going to have to take English to boost it up, because a 3.0 just isn't making the cut anymore. Now I've invested about 7,000 at Keiser just to raise my GPA. I think that's the worst law ever. You should be able to retake a class as many times as you want at whatever college. The struggle is real. I can't help to feel like a huge disappointment. I'm 29 and should have my life on track right now! Erg. Thanks for reading my vent. lol

High hopes for May... this will be my last attempt!

I know the feeling.

Hi everyone.

For those of you who do not know me, my name is Nichole. I am one of the Health Science Admissions team members. I am not on the board to "spy". Yes the program is hard. Those "horror" stories you have heard, I have heard them too. They are normally from students who are not doing well in the program. I have friends who have gone through the program; some have made it straight through, others have failed courses and had to retrack back into the program.... I have heard it all. I am only here to make sure the correct information is posted. So vent, talk, have a good time. Don't mind me. I usually do not pop up unless reminders are posted, or information needs correcting.

As you are preparing to apply for the May term, please keep these things in mind:

* All transcripts, if you are retaking a course at a private school, applications, and passing HESI MUST be received by February 15 in order to be considered for May.

* When you apply, you are applying to the program, NOT a particular campus.

* Yes we do take credits from Keiser.

* If you applied for August and were not accepted, your application will be moved to May. You do not have to pay the fee again.

* May is a shorter term (12 weeks instead of 16 weeks/ 6 weeks instead of 8 weeks) so it is the same amount of material in a shorter semester.

* For the May term, we accept less students because we also accept for the LPN to RN transition program in that term as well.
