Hi I would like to apply for the generic May 2012 entry nursing program at Broward college. Any one else looking into applying for this program. Let's help each other out in this process. I know it's a bit early but I'm excited !!!:)
You're in. At the orientation meeting they will tell you everything about choosing your classes. The only choice you have is south or central, you don't choose your teachers, you have to only choose 1 of the campuses and once you choice you have to stick with that campus until you graduate unless you have serious extenuating circumstances. If you have not done micro they will ask you to defer until you do it.
Thank you, I have a few questions about everything.. I'm kinda nervous lol how do we pick where we take classes at, and when it says pre admission that means for sure I'm in.. Right? They sent me an email and everything
Yes, that means you were accepted. You will be able to register for classes once you attend orientation which should be on March 29th. I didn't stay for the whole orientation since they gave us the option to sign our contracts and leave if we knew for sure that we were deferring due to North campus not being available for this May term. However, I was told when its time to register you pick the classes for the campus you want to attend and register online (same as if you were registering for regular classes). They do not pick the campus for you and once you start at that campus you have to stay at that campus. You are not allowed to transfer at any time during the program. Your choices are Central or South campus for this May term, pending there are seats still available for both campuses. No worries though...you are in!
I honestly don't know how it will work now with having so many people already deferring for August. When I signed my contract I was told my seat was guaranteed and I would not have to do anything further except wait for them to email me for the August orientation. Just make sure you ask all of these questions when you go to your orientation. I'm sure most of the details will be addressed and you could clarify anything you are unsure about.
Okay.. Thanks. And also the basic life support class theybsaid we needed was full, so i signed up for one that was basic life support basic rescuer... It's at broward too. Think it's the same thing?
Make sure it's BLS for health providers and approved by the American heart association, thats the one they want.
