Broward College May 2016 RN program

Just wanted to start a thread for Broward's May '16 RN program! I'm finishing up my application process this week.

My hesi was a 87% overall, with 90's in Math, Reading, and Vocabulary, an 84% in grammar, and a 80% in AP.

My prerequisite GPA is a 4.0

it was. alot of it was just going over the packet sent in the emails.

Are we supposed to wear anything specific?

i dont know about central,but for north it was regular clothes.

make sure you print out the whole packet with all of the info on retracking, uniform, etc. you'll have to sign everything and hand it in.

and make copies of your physical; they told us once we hand in the original, we don't get it back, and they won't make copies for you.

Does anyone know if the stethoscope, light pen, bandage scissors, and blood pressure sphygmomanometer are included in the Nursing Training Kit or do we have to purchase them separately?

They are not included in the Blue Bag.

So, to clarify some info from the North meeting. She said nikes are fine as long as the check is all white and the shoes are all leather, correct? Also, for Pharm and math do we need to wear polo or scrubs or we can wear whatever?

Also I went to the bookstore today to check out the bundle. The study guide for Fundamentals is NOT included in the bundle and you can not purchase the study guide separately. Ummm isn't the study guide required??

I went to the north bookstore today. Get your scrubs and polo's now! They don't have a lot in stock. The kit does not come with those other items. But they weren't priced horribly. The stethoscope was around $18, pressure cuff $26, and the pen light and bandage scissor were like 8 bucks each.

I purchased the study guide on Chegg for $20. And the textbook itself runs around $37 used and $25 rented. They also offer free shipping over $50

i won't be able to get any of my uniforms or polos until financial aid kicks in , pays for my classes, and i can get my ID badge :/ wish we couls just walk in with a credit card and boom.
