Just wanted to start a thread for Broward's May '16 RN program! I'm finishing up my application process this week.
My hesi was a 87% overall, with 90's in Math, Reading, and Vocabulary, an 84% in grammar, and a 80% in AP.
My prerequisite GPA is a 4.0
How was everyone's first week?! I'm excited to know and join you guys soon!
It's definitely tough but doable. A lot of the people I talk to are in a panic because it's a heavy workload. I try to stay to myself and just get my studying done. I study with 1 other person maybe 2 tops. Don't get a super large study group because there will be distractions at least there were for me. Also make sure the person you study with are serious and not fooling around. When I get around people freaking out I tend to get very anxious. Just be super organized and don't expect to have your hand held. Gone are the days that you could think "we didn't go over this in class so it can't be on the test". You have to be disciplined, dedicated and be open to self teaching. Personally I don't mind that I have to figure things out on my own. When I'm on a unit in the hospital as a nurse no one is going to baby me. We haven't take the first test but I've been studying, taking notes and getting mentally centered and feel I will do well. Good luck Hun! And when you start in August we will hopefully be in GIGU and can help you guys going through process 1. I know I certainly will be willing to help. [emoji4]

THANK YOU SO MUCH!
I am extremely studious and definitely think I'll continue to stay to myself during the program. It can be both beneficial to study with others as well as unproductive. I don't have much patience when it comes to not being productive though. My guy best friend also applied and hopefully we get in together because he's my study partner for everything. I like your points. It's true that when it comes to the real life stuff you gotta be able to think on your own. Thanks for the advice. Good luck on your first exam. I hope to see you in the future!

You're welcome. I study with someone that was my friend before starting the program and I think that works best. I don't have to spend time "getting to know" my study partner because I already know her. Let us know if you get in!!
