wait, shouldn't a 3.1 be like 6 or 7 pts?

i think they miscalculated my points...does anyone know?

yeah, it should be 7 pts for 3.1 gpa, and then 1 pt if you are a broward resident.

however, when i went to the website to see the points, since they were listed before, there was no mention of how the points are earned any more. i found it to say this under "eligibility":

broward college is committed to serving as many qualified students as possible. the seats are limited in the nursing program. the number of seats is determined by semester/term prior to opening the application period for fall and winter terms. once the student applies and is placed in the "eligible" applicant pool, applicants will be seated based on space availability, selection criteria, and successful completion of all college and nursing program requirements.
the only thing i could find that mentioned anything about points was this, under "admissions procedure":

admission will be determined from a review of the applicants in the eligibility pool who have earned the most points by weight taking into consideration all the required admission requirements. all requirements are to be successfully satisfied for admission consideration.
i'm not sure what this means exactly. from what it sounds like, it sounds like they sort of went back to a first come, first served process, but the more you have done, and the higher the grades, the better your chances. i have no clue. things sound so mixed up now, my heart goes out to you all applying and waiting to apply later.

I know, I tried looking for their point system to ascertain where I was in that regard but also, like you, found nothing. sooo nerve wracking and since last semester there was no gpa cut off there really is nothing to go by.:uhoh3:

I found out the hard way the pts are not based on your actual Program GPA, its based only on the pre-reqs. Take the 6 grades you have for Anat I & Lab, Anat II & Lab, Chem & Eng.

For every A=12pts (labs A=4) B=9pts (labs B=3) C=6pts (lab C=2)... you get the point. So add all those up (ie.12+4+9+4+9+9=47.) The total credit hours are 14. So divide 47 by 14 = 3.36. That is your application gpa. And Broward DOES NOT round up, they round down so this would be a 3.3. Hope this helps

This is torturous!:crying2:

Wow, you guys in general still have not heard? That stinks! But if the deadline was Sept 15th, then you should all hear by this Friday, right? I'm bummed because I was 'supposed' to be part of your group. Things don't always work out as planned, though.

I do have a question, though. If you don't plan on attending the 'next' available session, but you've got all your stuff ready, is it ok to apply for the very next go round and then not start until the next session? I don't want to start until Aug, but would love to know I at least have a seat AND I've got everything done as of end of this semester. I was thinking of applying for May just to get it over with and pray for the best.

Good luck to you all!

If you really want to start in Aug I think you should still apply for May. Then after you get accepted just defer your seat for the next semester which would be Aug.

Yes I would apply ASAP....

Im planning on applying for may also, can anyone recommend a Micro teacher

I took ******...I liked her. A lot of people think she is intense, but in all honesty she is good and she knows her stuff. If you study it will be easy. I got an A in lab and lecture.. Good luck :)

I am taking ****** ****** right now. I have done well on his first few tests and he gives a lot of extra credit assignments. No complaints about his teaching but no matter who you take it with... Unless you like bacteria, fugus or parasites its a boring class.

Has any one gotten their certificates through CEUfast.com? I can't find the OSHA 2hr course...I only see a 1 hour...and I cant find the Hepatitis 2 hour...they have Hepatitis C 2 hour? Help

Thanks for the teacher suggestions.
