New thread started for all those applying for / accepted to / attending Broward College January 2011. Chime in, let us know how you're doing!

Ok, so my gpa was recalculated and I now have 6 points....we'll see how it goes. Keeping all my fingers and toes crossed! In all honesty, do you guys think I should start applying elsewhere or do you think I have a shot with BCC? So anxious!!:uhoh3:

friendly terms of service reminder

a few posts have been edited to comply with the terms of service.

per the terms of service of this site, please do not post names, initials, or contact information of professors or other school officials on the public board. it is better to communicate this type of information via the private message system.

as stated in the terms of service:

while it is important to be able to network, everyone should be mindful of the following:

  1. it is a small world - when we narrow it down to a state and throw in some personal info, there is actually a pretty good chance someone may recognize you if you are not careful. your privacy is paramount to us.
  2. while allnurses.com is a wonderful place to vent (without excess personally identifiable details) it is not the place to express why ("x" specific person, place or program) is terrible. gripe away, but since we cannot permit allegations to be made about named entities, your care in not naming them is very much appreciated.
  3. please do not give out personal information about others. do not name names where anyone could identify the person in any facility including your nursing programs.

the best to all of you! thank you for your cooperation.

If I were you I would wait. You should know soon maybe a few days. I applied to Nova as well and they took almost 8 months to notify their applicants!! And every school requires different pre-reqs so If I were you I would just hold on until you know. If not you are going to drive yourself crazy. I only had 9 GPA points and 1 Broward Resident Point (3.3 gpa)...Eligible applicants could mean they have the minimum GPA. Don't get discouraged and keep your fingers crossed..:)

Does anyone know of a place I can get all the lab tests we need cheap?

Try the Walgreens Clinic. They have the cheapest immunizations. I went to my regular doctor for the titers. My insurance covered it.

Hepatitis B (Child) $102

Meningitis $147

MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) $116

Pneumonia $77

Polio (IPV) $96

TD (Tetorifice, Diphtheria) $76

Tdap (Tetorifice, Diphtheria, Pertussis) $92

PHYSICAL

Physical exams

Camp physical $69

College physical $69

DOT physical $84

Sports physical $69

Pregnancy evaluation $69-$89

Hope that helps a little!! :-)

Hey just thought I would let anyone who needs it know that Solantic Urgent Care will do everything you need for about $225.00. My husband is self-employed so I pay out of pocket for ALL our medical expenses. I checked around they are the cheapest. :)
