...done. : )
This admission process has been incredibly stressful, and now even more so to hear 1000 qualified applicants are competing for 220 seats. By far the worst game of musical chairs I ever played. If you look at mathmatically, for every 1 seat there are 4.5 applicants ... I felt confident in the beginning having a 3.4 & scoring over 90 on the Hesi, however its becoming apparent it may not be good enough. Are there any current Broward Nursing Students that can provide information on what the gpa cut off was for last August?
Last August (2009) the points cutoff was 9 with 8 being put on the alternate list. However, all alternates were offered seats at the orientation. At that time, the HESI test wasn't implemented yet, so that wasn't a factor. We had over 750 applicants (might have been a little more) for 300 seats.
Keep in mind, though, just because these applicants are "eligible" doesn't mean they all had a 4.0 gpa. It just means they passed their classes, had at least a 2.5 gpa and passed the HESI.

I have 17 points total. I wasn't eligible for HOSA points. I wish they did give points for doing well on the HESI!!!
