I know there is a lot of confusion going around with the new requirements for the BC nursing program so I wanted to start a thread for those of us finishing prerequisites and applying in January. I'm in the Core class now, but other than that I'm finished with everything else and getting very excited to start next year!

:yes:good luck on your tests.

Having a birthday in nursing school is not easy but I managed to do it! Celebrated my 23rd birthday yesterday!

Hi guys! I've been reading posts here and I hope you can answer a question for me.

First of all, congrats to you all on your first semester! I will be starting the Generic RN program in August and currently work part time, about 10 hours a week. I can make my own schedule, so when those 10 hours happen is pretty flexible. So you know a bit more about me, I am going back to school to get my RN. It's not my first degree, not even my second. I have worked full time while taking graduate classes AND completing a part time internship. Was it stressful, yes. Was it manageable, yes. So now I'm going back and information about nursing programs is very elusive. I hope you can help.

From looking at the sample schedule online, it appears that you only take one class at a time with it's associated lab. I've looked at the class schedules for this and can gather that the lecture meets 3 hrs. twice a week and the clinical is 12 hours one day a week. Is this right? Aside from the amount of studying and prep time need can you give me an idea of where you need to be and when for classes? What is the actual face time requirement of this program? I've done a lot in the past, but I don't want to over-commit myself.

Thanks for any info you can give

Hey , I am curious to know how others work and go to school full time..I work full time currently for an ophthalmologist and I don't know exactly what type of job I would get part time..I am actually a little scared. I just need to be able to pay half my rent and the bills...What do you do part time for work ?

They actually do not recommend working full time. Quite a few people who worked full time now have to re-track because they failed Process 1. So now thy have to wait until August. This program is not easy I can tell you.
