I know there is a lot of confusion going around with the new requirements for the BC nursing program so I wanted to start a thread for those of us finishing prerequisites and applying in January. I'm in the Core class now, but other than that I'm finished with everything else and getting very excited to start next year!
Hope everyone is doing well!!! I'll be starting in August, & I am working on certificates... I just took the TB/OSHA/HEP through CEUfast & they give you 5 hours for the course & B.C. requires 6 hours. Does anyone know how I get that extra hour, or does B.C. just accept as is??? Thanks for the response. :)

Hey did you ever find out if they would accept the certifications. I was told we would have to take osha (infection control and barrier precautions) which is 4 hours in addition to the hep and tb which would be a total of 8 hours.
Miami Dade College offers these courses cheap through their School of Continuing Education. But doesn't Broward offer these courses cheaper and online option as well . Why not do it with them??
With ceufast.com you can get all your certifications for 30$ to join. Im considered out of state at Broward so for the tb/osha/hep i would have to pay 70 for the online course. But to avoid all risks ill probably end up just paying that.
I dont remember exactly which one it was on ceufast.com but there is an extra one you do and they will accept it, I am currently in the program and thats how I got it done. Give them a call at the nursing office and they will tell you what you need. The previous message about OSHA that ends up being 8 total hours sounds right but I dont want to give you wrong info so double check.
Good Luck

I work as a mental health professional in private practice, so I have complete control over how many clients I have and when they are scheduled. I know I can't do full time, but 10-15 hours max might be ok.
