Broward College hopeful for May 2013 Nursing Program

I know there is a lot of confusion going around with the new requirements for the BC nursing program so I wanted to start a thread for those of us finishing prerequisites and applying in January. I'm in the Core class now, but other than that I'm finished with everything else and getting very excited to start next year!

There's an app called "TRC" Pharmacology for iPhone. It's free and it actually helps explain things for those who have yet to purchase the books.

Does anyone know if RN students get their FA disbursed any earlier than regular students? The official date for summer term students is 6/10 with a disbursement date of the next Friday. That is going to be a rough wait money wise, and since most of us can't work I was just hoping there was something different for us.

I already got my financial aid and already purchased books and uniforms. My classes were already paid for too. Maybe call them?

My classes were paid and I received a card and bought some books with it.

Studying "Test Success" feel free to chime in if anyone has started as well. In addition to Perry and Potter, I got the Cox Diagnosis book and 3 study guides: P&P 8th edition Study Guide, Test Success, and Fundamentals Success. I don't think I will use all three. Not sure which one(s) to return. It sees there are study guides for each class. The unofficial booklist.

Is anyone else planning to get scrub bottoms at a uniform store? The ones from the bookstore are way way too long for me.

Also I noticed the bookstore carries about 4 different brands of scrubs. So when you get yours pay attention to that.

Stacie u may want to wait till u have ur orientation. Some professors require only bookstore uniforms and brands. It may have changed, however better to be safe than sorry.

I did! I went to Uniform Advantage! Omg! They're comfy and fit PERFECTLY! :)

What I've heard from previous students is that the tops have to be from campus because of the logo but they have bought different bottoms. It's the same color except they fit better. I can't stand drawstring alone type pants. The one I bought has elastic and drawstring. You can't tell it's a different scrub bottom.

I just love to see the boards move so rapidly :writing:when it's nearing time for school to start. Then all of a sudden tumbleweeds. :dead:Lol I hope you guys check in and let us pre-nursing:nurse: students know how it is going. That would be nice otherwise. It will be tumble weeds.
