Broward College hopeful for May 2013 Nursing Program

U.S.A. Florida

I know there is a lot of confusion going around with the new requirements for the BC nursing program so I wanted to start a thread for those of us finishing prerequisites and applying in January. I'm in the Core class now, but other than that I'm finished with everything else and getting very excited to start next year!

You won't need it so I wouldn't bother purchasing it. To be honest, there are a lot of books that you will not use so I wouldn't purchase anything till orientation or till you are actually attending class. I did well without half of the required books and whatever I did need (they will let you know for certain assignments) I was able to purchase from upper class students for very cheap, Amazon, or the bookstore.

Ok great thanks!

Do we have to get the polo? Can we wear scrubs instead? The polo doesn't fit and I couldn't find any in my size at the bookstore.

You can wear scrubs to class and clinical. I can't speak for any other campus except North, but as long as you are in uniform it doesn't matter. I never bought any polos nor do I plan on it since I have 4 sets of scrubs and it has been more than enough to get me through the week.

Thank you. :)

What style (tag code number) did you get on your pants. Which store. I went to the one in Pines and they didn't have any.

Tag code? Can you elaborate? I didn't get Cherokee if that's what you're asking. I got some called "Butter Soft". Same exact color and it fits both ways. Small size and Tall. The others just have one size.

Ok. I meant the style code or style number. I saw the butter soft but wasn't sure if they matched exactly or not. They didn't have much of a selection in Cherokee. Thanks for the info.

If you have the top you should try the bottoms to see if they match. It says Color: RROY.

Hey everyone if you go on bconline the process 1 shows up and you can see the syllabus and everything.. BTW this is for south students, im not sure if its showing up for everyone else. :)

I was wondering. If you wear the polo to lecture, jeans are acceptable for bottoms? Could not find information on uniforms rules/regulations anywhere.

Well for central, yes. Idk about the other campuses although I can't imagine what else you're supposed to wear.

This is what my syllabus for south states: theory students must wear full Broward College nursing uniform or Broward College blue polo shirt, nursing uniform pants and white or black working shoes with enclosed toes (like sneakers or similar). This is mandatory and you will not be admitted in class without the proper attire.
