Broward College HCP0130 question...

Published

I'm done with all of my pre-reqs for the nursing program at broward college except for HCP0130. I'm currently enrolled in HCP0130 & I will be starting in Jan. I would like to apply to the May2010 generic nursing program and the application deadline is Jan.

Can I apply to the nursing program even though I haven't completed this class yet? Has anyone been accepted into the nursing program while still taking HCP0130? Any comments will be greatly appreciated...

Thanks

i think you have to take the class before you apply. if u work in the medical field already (cna, emt etc) then you dont have to take it and can apply.

but they were really adamant about the class being taken. it teaches basics like pt care, bp, vitals blah blah blah.

the ppl on the davie campus are so freakin rude its unbelieveable. they had me bouncing from office to office to get an answer. really turned me off of them.

Yes, you have to take the class before you apply. I know some friends who applied before taking the class and they were not accepted. Why broward college? Couldn't you chose some place else? Some of the broward campuses take pleasure in failing student and some of the instructors boast about it. I know many students at broward college and a few of the campuses can be a nightmare.

Well, if that's the case...I guess I will have to take the class before I apply.

I was looking through some threads and I found out about Sheridan Tech. I heard that they offer HCP0130 & its only a three week course. The next class starts Nov 16th and once I complete this course I will still have time to apply to BCC for the May2010 nursing program. Thank you for your response...

yeah just make sure you get registered before it fills up. what a bulls*** class. It should just be part of the nursing /ems/ whatever medical curriculum not a stupid qualifier. they should be more worried about u completing a&p chem and micro. first.

good luck!

Wow, these schools are getting pickier and pickier! Luckily I found out about Sheridan Tech so I'm going to enroll and take HCP0130 there. The reason I'm applying at BCC is because I've already applied at MDC and I was not accepted. I guess my 3.68 wasn't good enough. That's another school that's darn picky. I don't know what else to do. I would like to get my associates and the only schools I know that offer an associates in nursing are Keiser, City College, Miami Dade and Broward College. Have you already been accepted into a nursing program?

Yes, I am almost done. I am about to do my preceptorship now. God has been good to me...I spent one semester at Broward college but I had to work and so I got accepted in another school where I could work full-time while attending school. By the way, nursing process1 was my first class which I passed but I just could not take some teachers there. Thank God I had a choice then but now it is so hard to be accepted in nursing college .

I am taking HCPO now, at Central Campus, and though it is a fluffy little class, the instructors are all very good.

Good communicators, good instructors, organized....etc. All RN's at least.

No problems so far. Wondering what the difference is between these very good instructors and the nursing school instructors.

I will be applying to the May program the day after I complete the course!

I am wondering how long the RN program is at Broward College?
