:heartbeat:nurse:
I'm having a little difficulty putting my folder together for central campus, please help if you can.
1. For the submission folder: originals are- Physical, background check, finger prints and drug test paper.
Copys are: CEUS/CPR/LICENSES ( if you have a waiver)?
Also how are we supposed to turn them in? Like a 3 ring binder or in a plain little folder paperclipped together?
Also if anyone has a waiver- I have a licence and a waiver but I've never worked before and central is asking for a "letter on official letter-head paper proving I've worked. I've never worked with my licence though, will that be an issue?
Also, can I turn my folder in on a Friday?
Thanks!

I'm pretty sure you can't turn in your folder on a Friday because the Health Sciences are closed on Fridays for processing. HOWEVER, I don't know for sure, so my advice is to call the school.
At Orientation, they said the folder we are supposed to turn in is supposed to resemble one like they gave us that day- a simple folder. I'd guess one with pocket flaps. And the binder is YOURS- that's for during the beginning of clinicals, I think, for teachers to make sure you have everything in order that you need.
I'm in class, or else I'd be able to tell you the order to put everything in and what is a copy, and what is an original. If no one has answered you by around 9, I'll be home then and will answer. :)
I don't have any waivers or licenses, so I can't help you there.

Thanks for your help! I'm calling tomorrow to verify these things as well, but if do you know the order please get back to me so I can be 100% sure. Thanks again!
My pcp still doesn't have all of my titer results in-they're waiting on ONE result- and due to 'legal reasons' they can't even tell me which one they're waiting on, and the results of the other tests. So I can't even go and get any immunizations in the meantime I might need! Ugh!! I am really worried about getting this done in time. Monday will be Nov 22- the earliest day my titer results will be in, and so the 23 probably the earliest day I can get any immunizations done.
Also- did anyone get a phone call from the drug screening company? Because I know that I take a prescription drug they screen for, and so am expecting a call, but haven't gotten one yet... I just don't want the school to get the results before they get my physical, in which my doctor does write down the prescription I'm taking.
Anyway...have started getting textbooks shipped in, like the book for clinical, and also fundamentals success. Eagerly awaiting Fundamentals of Nursing so I can begin on Ch 1-6.
How is everyone else's process coming? This thread has really died down in the last few days!

Yes the thread has died down. probably everyone scrambling to get everything done and turned in. About the drug test, u probably can email or talk to someone in the health science dept and make them aware that you are taking prescription medication and may show in your tox screen (drug tox screen). We have until Dec. 1 to turn everything in right?
On another completely unrelated note: I'm married and mom to a fifteen month old son, and so of course want to save as much money as I possibly can. I was reading this month's Wired magazine (LOVE it!!), and it was talking about all of these websites where you can find coupons and deals and save tons of money. They had a reporter go with a woman to a supermarket, and with her coupons (store plus manufacturers), she bought eighty dollars worth of merchandise for a dollar- BUT found an error on her receipt, which caused her to walk out with more than a dollar in PROFIT! Incredible.
My point is, there are a ton of websites out there with coupons and deals that can be saving us lots of money if we just use them. One is http://www.retailmenot.com/grocery/ where you type in your zip code and pick which grocery type store you go to, then look for coupons. I think this can save us nursing students lots of money:)
Anyway, it apparently takes training and lots of time and lessons learned before you get the kind of skills and to the kind of level where you're the woman who walks out of a supermarket with eighty dollars worth of groceries and profits from it. I'm not sure any of us have THAT kind of time on our hands, but hey, maybe this will at least help us save a few bucks here and there. Anything helps.

You need the 3rd edition. I am taking that practice math class now with the professor that teaches it at Central and that is the one she uses.
