Hi guys, is anyone else working towards starting the nursing program at BC in August 2011? I am working on my last pre-reqs this semester (spring 11) and then apply and hopefully get accepted for the fall semester. I just took and passed the hesi exam last night and that is one big load off my back. I also started my hep shots since it takes 3 rounds of shots and a total of 6 months to be fully immunized. I want to have all of my ducks in order to start the program. I am undecided whether to go to south or central campus. Any advice?

Thank you so much littlegirlblue. You have been a great help. Good luck on your exam. I'm going to take it next week.

Wow ! I envy you guys when i see ya with those blue scrubs. I want to get in so bad. now they only gave me 6 points and my hesi Math 92, Reading 91.5, grammar 90, A&p 88, vocab 80. I wonder if i will ever get in ? What are my chance of getting in ? I am so nervous.

Once your GAP is 3.0 or above and you have 75% or above on your Hesi, consider yourself in. Start reading your nursing fundamentals Perry Potter book and familliarize yourself with critical thinking styles questions. this is nothing like A&P. If you look in the prior posting you will see the book list. get busy now. I am overwhelm with the amount of chapters that we have to read in such short period of time. I feel like crying right now :crying2:

Hi everyone I'm applying into the january program. I took the Hesi and got a 98 in math, 98 in grammar, 93 in reading, 78 in vocabulary, & didn't pass the Anatomy. I'm retaking the vocabulary and anatomy again next week.

Was wondering if anyone has taken the hesi a2 version 2 anatomy section and can give me any tips? I studied like crazy for the version 1 test and thought anatomy was my strong point but the test was not what I expected or like the hesi book.

I'm worried cause I have a 3.0 in my pre-reqs & I really need to pass the anatomy so I can get my application in. Any tips would be great. Thanks!

I'm sure it gets tough but the hard work will be worth it in the end. Keep your head up. I will keep you in my prayers!

RN4me2,

When did you start the program and what campus are you at? I am applying for Jan 2012, but am scared that I should retake the AP portion of the HESI.. I keep getting conflicting info, I wish I had an insider from health science that I could get a real answer from! lol. I have a 3.57 gpa in my pre-reqs, and an overall HESI of 86%: Grammar-86%, Vocab- 86%, Reading 86%, Math 92%, but AP 76% :(

Some people say retake it, but some say its fine.. They see both scores anyways.. Is it worth retaking??

SOOOO confused!!!!!!!!! :uhoh3:

Hi! Those of you attending south campus can you tell me how its going for you? Is it horrible as the rumors I've heard or are ppl just exaggerating? Your input will be greatly appreciated :)!!

I'm not attending yet. But I'm applying for January. I too have heard bad things about south. But I know someone who goes there and they say it's really not that bad. You just have to be dedicated. I'd be happy to get into any campus, cause I know if push myself and study my butt off. I just hope the rumors arent true.

Goldenjewel, I started at South Campus a month ago and I love it! So far I have passed all of my exams and return demos. We are getting ready to start doing hospital clinicals in 2 weeks. You have to work really hard and make nursing your entire life but if you are dedicated there is no reason you should not pass. I also really like the instructors we have. I do wish our lab was a little bigger and nicer but other than that I am very happy with my decision. Good luck! :nurse:

Actually the semester starts today and my first class is Pharm at 5pm, so I cant really give you an opinion on the program. I chose central campus simply because it is close to my home and because my mother teaches there and I will need her to pick up my son from the childcare center located on campus. Really though I have heard good and bad about all three campuses. I cant comment on Micro since I haven't even taken it yet. I am taking it during the half summer that we will have off next year.

Hey! I just wanted to see how everything is going for you so far?? Is it super overwhelming like many are saying??

BTW.. I submitted my application yesterday, tomorrow is the last date to apply for January.. My status shows "Application in Review"- 12pts like you said :) sooo the waiting begins! I am taking Micro now and its not very fun!!! lol.. Annnyyy advice/expectations you have, pleassee do share :yeah:

Hi The program is going well. Its a lot of work and it becomes overwhelming if you dont try to do some studying every day. If you are going to central then the worst is doing the Skill Check cards. They are some much work and took up all my time the first two weeks. My advice when you start is to just get them down. I know alot of my class mates were really stressed out about having to do them. And some got written up for not doing them on time.

What are skill check cards? Well you lab book has skill check for everything we will do and you have to write them out on Huge 5x8 index cards. Sounds easy..lol wait untill you see how much writing it is. I have never in my life had hand cramps until I did those. I have heard the students at North dont have to do them.

:yeah:Good to hear that you are doing well!! Thank you for the advice, ANYTHING helps. How do you like Central?? Is there any myths about which campus is the "best"? What does your schedule look like in the begininng? Are there certain classes you are required to enroll in at specific times? How does it work??

Sorry for bugging you! IF I GET IN.. I want to have a bit of an idea of what I am looking at! Especially with two kids (5 and 1) lol.. :D
