Broward College August 2011

Published

Hi guys, is anyone else working towards starting the nursing program at BC in August 2011? I am working on my last pre-reqs this semester (spring 11) and then apply and hopefully get accepted for the fall semester. I just took and passed the hesi exam last night and that is one big load off my back. I also started my hep shots since it takes 3 rounds of shots and a total of 6 months to be fully immunized. I want to have all of my ducks in order to start the program. I am undecided whether to go to south or central campus. Any advice?

yeah when I went in the lady had a stack of apps in front of her entering info in the computer

No joke. There was a stack there but if you saw on the sign-in sheet, there was a bunch of EMT/Paramedics who dropped off apps this AM.

Now its the waiting game. An even longer wait now since they pushed back the deadline to May 27th. I think your right about them needing more people to apply...makes sense.

Thanks sunshinegirlFlorida I am going to stay positive and like you said if it doesnt work out for fall I'll apply for another term and retake the HESI.

hey littlegirlblue, can u let me know if u got accepted with a 3.0, i have a 3.1 and im going to apply for the jan2012 program and im so nervous that its not enough. :(

on the limited access application on the bc website, does everyone else's application term say 20111. I'm a little paranoid and want to make sure everything is right

Oh god, I had not even noticed that!! Mine says 20121!!! They told me I could contact them again in a week if my status has not changed. I will make sure to ask about that when I do. Eeeek!

Mine says 20121....I wonder why they are different. Are you going for the Generic RN AS?

yes Generic AS. I am going to send an email to them because I think they may have entered my info wrong.

They haven't accepted anyone for the August 2011 group yet. The application deadline is May 27th so we wont hear from them till about 30 days after that. I've seen a couple of your post where you have said that your GPA is 3.1. I remember reading through the Jan 2011 group and there was a person who got in with 5 pts which I think is for a 2.9 GPA. I suggest that you study hard for the HESI and apply. Maybe try meeting with someone in the health science department.

We havent gotten in yet. We are in the application process for August 2011. The GPA is viewed in two ways. You must have a overall minimum of 2.5 per the admission requirements and then they score you based on your required pre-reqs (e.g: CHM1032, BSC205/L, BSC2086/L, and ENC1101).
