Broward College August 2011

Hi guys, is anyone else working towards starting the nursing program at BC in August 2011? I am working on my last pre-reqs this semester (spring 11) and then apply and hopefully get accepted for the fall semester. I just took and passed the hesi exam last night and that is one big load off my back. I also started my hep shots since it takes 3 rounds of shots and a total of 6 months to be fully immunized. I want to have all of my ducks in order to start the program. I am undecided whether to go to south or central campus. Any advice?

Just thought you should know that the email is just an alternate list and it does't mean you got accepted into the program. It just means that if a space opens up you might be selected it's not guaranteed that you are starting August 18.

@ travt32, it's a letter that states just dsame like those who were initially accepted. Pre-admission letter that states orientation and program start date or isn't that what u had?

The CEU's are the certification classes that we have to take like the basic life skills and HIV course ect, I believe there are five of them that is needed

Ok great I have those.

I guess we will find out tomorrow, there were a few people here that got the alternate pending seat avail. Email and had orientation july 14 and now they are registered for august so we can only pray for the best and ask god to continue to bless us...right?

I turned in my packet yesterday, (South campus) and they said all was good, such a relief to get all that taken care of :)))

I'm right there with you with a collection bucket for tuition lol. Long story short, I was eligible for part of the Pell Grant and now I'm not... there was a screw up in my FinAid paperwork, and the office is now aware of it but it will take time for them to fix... needless to say, Pell Grant money won't be available by Aug 10th to help pay for out-of -state tuition :crying2:

I'm not giving up that easy though!

That's right!!! No giving up for you..... Giving up is for loosers and we are WINNERS. Am sure your financial aid situation will all work out for the best, who knows maybe next time around you'll qualify for MORE pell.

That's crazy because in the orientation they said they were due NO LATER THAN the 5th??? That sounds odd only because classes start just 3 days later  South campus packets are still due by the third... Crazy how the three campuses run by the same school can be on such different tracks, and we haven't even started classes! Geez lol

Yeah!!! I do wish all 3 campuses were standards across the board. It just shows that nothing good in life comes easy...:)

Very true

 i finally got all my paperwork in order. i am getting ready to drop them at the north campus tomorrow. i will keep you posted.

fyi: if you're in the health care field, your employer maybe able to help the hep b, tb and tetorifice vaccine. some of them are more generous than others and would even cover the whole physical. "ask and you should receive" i am glad mine did. for some of us who have to pay out of pocket, every drop count. :yeah:

north campus here i come. i wish i had financial aid

were you able to turned in your paper? because i called them, they said papers can only be turned in on august 5.
