Broward College August 2011

Published

Hi guys, is anyone else working towards starting the nursing program at BC in August 2011? I am working on my last pre-reqs this semester (spring 11) and then apply and hopefully get accepted for the fall semester. I just took and passed the hesi exam last night and that is one big load off my back. I also started my hep shots since it takes 3 rounds of shots and a total of 6 months to be fully immunized. I want to have all of my ducks in order to start the program. I am undecided whether to go to south or central campus. Any advice?

:uhoh3:

Finally got all my paperwork in place. File & binder ready to be turned in.

Yippy!!!:yeah:

Next step is to stand outside the Salvation Army with a bucket to collect donation for my tuition....hahaha!!! Just kidding....God is an AWESOME Provider.

Plz can u tell me how u put your papers together cos my orientation is this Thursday am trying to get started as early as tomorrow with some physicals(test, shots) and anything I need to know before thursday. Thanks

Woohoo Congrats on getting all of your paperwork ready! I felt a huge weight off my shoulders when I turned in my packet on Thursday. I have not heard anything back so hopefully no news is good news :) The packet for South campus was easy to put together in relation to the other campus. I just had to put it in order and staple it together LOL! We are getting really close!!!

Per emails sent by North Campus, papers can only be turned in on August 5 to August 15 :(

@authenticme - you will get all the nesseccary information needed at your orientation on thursday. i understand that you were on the alternate list and was just accepted so i don't want to provide you with any different info. for those of us who were initially accepted; we went to orientation than was emailed information on registration, paperwork etc...... after orientation. i can assume the same will happen for your group base on whichever campus you plan on attending.

However I would advise that you work on your physical, shots and CEUs from now.

I applied for this august 2011, after I guess some selected people for orientation for July 14th didn't show up, they started to send out Letter to alternate list student, so am starting august 18th, I only had 6 points, 5 points from my gap and 1 point as a broward resident, I'll just say that God is on my side cos i was ready to start Kaplan on august 3rd this yr, was huts getting ready to order d test book to take d entrance exam for Kaplan nursing sch when I checked my email and saw d acceptance letter, still couldn't believe it.

Don't give up try to make sure you get an A on chemistry and your Hesi at least be on the 80s and you will be fine, I had to take my hesi 3x just to get %86 and it cost me $85 for every test I took so you can imagine, you never can tell what will happen especially when God is on your side. The Cs on the 1 credit course don't really affect much but Cs on the 3 credit course is what does the damage to ur gpa

Hey AuthenticMe I understand and know what your going through I just got the same email as you and have orientation for July 28 too. I still cant believe and dont know where to begin:eek:....Because I thought I wasn't accepted and I just moved to Maryland last week Sunday and know I am flying down tomorrow to go to orientation so I don't know where to begin the good thing is that I already have all my CEU's :D Good luck and see you at orientation :yeah:

I turned in my packet yesterday, (South campus) and they said all was good, such a relief to get all that taken care of :)))

I'm right there with you with a collection bucket for tuition lol. Long story short, I was eligible for part of the Pell Grant and now I'm not... there was a screw up in my FinAid paperwork, and the office is now aware of it but it will take time for them to fix... needless to say, Pell Grant money won't be available by Aug 10th to help pay for out-of -state tuition :crying2:

I'm not giving up that easy though!

That's crazy because in the orientation they said they were due NO LATER THAN the 5th??? That sounds odd only because classes start just 3 days later  South campus packets are still due by the third... Crazy how the three campuses run by the same school can be on such different tracks, and we haven't even started classes! Geez lol

natababez, wow! congrats! what a miracle for us. what is d ceu's cos i do have some paperwork already just not so sure of my vaccination records becos i wasn't born in the us.

Just thought you should know that the email is just an alternate list and it does't mean you got accepted into the program. It just means that if a space opens up you might be selected it's not guaranteed that you are starting August 18.

The CEU's are the certification classes that we have to take like the basic life skills and HIV course ect, I believe there are five of them that is needed
