Broward College August 2011

Published

Hi guys, is anyone else working towards starting the nursing program at BC in August 2011? I am working on my last pre-reqs this semester (spring 11) and then apply and hopefully get accepted for the fall semester. I just took and passed the hesi exam last night and that is one big load off my back. I also started my hep shots since it takes 3 rounds of shots and a total of 6 months to be fully immunized. I want to have all of my ducks in order to start the program. I am undecided whether to go to south or central campus. Any advice?

Hey Alana..that's great you have all your stuff and ready. Well the walmart one is 1 block from my house plus it's including the vaccine so i guess it's a pretty good deal. I need to do the rest this week before next. So did u guys read that we don't need the uniform till the 30th? Is that right ??

Oh yeah, if you need that vaccine, that's an awesome deal :yeah:

Where did you read that we don't need the uniforms till the 30th? I checked all my emails and can't find anything  So I want to make sure I'm not missing anything. Are you going to South?

Alana in brickman's website there's tons of info there for our first day. This is for north campus. There in one of the PDF is that info. The 30 is the secOnd Tuesday so I guess is when we start labs.

bekkasky...

Okay cool. I'm going to South Campus, and I haven't really heard anything yet, but I'm assuming we will be on very similar tracks... Good to know Thank you

I'll poke around to see if any of the South professors have a website!

Hello has anyone taken the forensic drug test?

Can you share your experience?

Is it a hair or urinalysis?

:nurse:

By the way does anyone have any feedback about the nursing program for the different campuses?

Thank you for the heads up. So the program is better at north than central and south? Even the clinicals?

by now we have all heard intimidating stories about all campuses. either way i think our experience depends on us as a “student”. if one is looking for an easy pass to an “a” then they might want to re-consider this program; but if you are willing to study and work hard to succeed then you are on the right track….i work with and know nurses who graduated from north, south & central; and in the end they are all knowledgeable nurses who rates broward college program very highly. i truly think people should stop focusing on what campus is best and tell themselves whichever campus i attend i will succeed!!!!!!

Anyone else going to central? We have a mandatory orientation next wednesday! Hopefully they'll give us more info on uniforms and books then :)

Will appreciate if any of you guys will suggest WHERE to get varicella/chickenpox vaccine and HOW MUCH and what do we need to bring to that place to get it? Thank you..

depends on where you live and what works best for you...

one person posted on here that they were able to go to the walmart clinic, they got their physical and a shot for a really good price. (a few pages back they posted a price list on here.)

someone else mentioned doctors 365 in plantation, i know they have a price list on their website that lists everything! i went there, was cost-friendly, but i only needed titers.

there are other places too like health clinics, you can find them online.

Hey! I got into the nursing program at BC, and I need an advise to know which campus is best for the program?
